Devious Maids Season 3 has just been confirmed, and viewers will witness 13 episodes in the upcoming season. The sheer popularity of the show forced the producers to confirm the next season, just months after Season two ended. Marc Cherry continues as the show runner, alongside producers Brian Tanen and Ric Swartzlander.
While Brian has been with the crew since the first season, Ric – famous for Cougar Town and The Soul Man – joined in later. An average of 1.8 million viewers tuned in to catch the second season of Devious Maids per week, which wrapped up in July this year. This proves the immense popularity enjoyed by the show in and around the States.
It rules the 10 PM slot, fetching massive popularity for the ABC networks. “We are very excited about Devious Maids Season 3. It is a work of pure genius on the part of Marc and witnesses the fusion of devilish instincts and ambitions with a sense of humor along the way.” announced Rob Sharenow, the General Manager cum Vice President of Lifetime.
Diana Ramirez, Ana Ortiz, Edy Ganem, Roselyn Sanchez and Judy Reyes are the Devious Maids, who are bound by their duties towards their employers. The show narrates their life, their struggles and the topsy-turvy nature of the world that they live in.
Brett Cullen, Brianna Brown, Drew Van Acker, Grant Show, Matt Cedeno, Melinda Page Hamilton, Rebecca Wisocky, Susan Lucci and Tom Irwin are the supporting cast of the show. Devious Maids season two marked the directorial debut of Executive Producer Eva Longoria.
Loosely inspired from Ellas son la Alegria del Hogar, Devious Maids aired for the first time back in July 2012, after receiving the go-ahead from ABC. There has been no looking back since, for the team.
Eva Longoria, along with the ladies on the show, was spotted at Variety’s 2014 Power of Women at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles. The ladies were seen having a gala time at the event, sharing a laugh or two with Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Lopez.
Power of Women is the gathering of the most prominent names of the entertainment industry, who are felicitated for humanitarian initiatives. Apart from Jennifer Lopez and Reese Witherspoon, Viola Davis, Jane Fonda, and Donna Langley were honored at the occasion.
Devious Maids is based on a tricky concept that people might find racist or sexist. However, the viewers have been kind so far. Even though Eva Longoria is not expected to play a role in the series, Marc is of the opinion that the veteran actor should give it a shot.
