Recently, Left 4 Dead 2 developers have been provided fans a glimmer of hope with a declaration that Left 4 Dead 3 could be developed. According to them, the development is quite unlikely but not impossible. It’s already been five years since the last Left 4 Dead game was released, and fans have been speculating for a long time. Chris Ashton, the Turtle Rock Developer, told PC Gamer that Left 4 Dead 3 will only be possible if Valve decides to make it so.
According to him, the IP now belongs to them, so they are the decision maker at the moment. Chris Rock declared that it was a game they invented. The franchise is quite similar to ‘Evolve’ and hence they consider it to be their brainchild. He further enticed gamers, saying that, a lot of developers will jump at the idea of working on a possible Left 4 Dead 3. However, it is quite unlikely that this will ever happen. Left 4 Dead is the title with which they entered the co-op foray. The game will always remain quiet close to their hearts.
For those who haven’t played Left 4 Dead before, you better come out of the cave you’ve been living in! It is a game set in a post-apocalyptic world and features a popular series of first-person shooters. Here, the players must co-operate with each other in order to take on hordes of zombies and various other undead monstrosities.
Both of the games in this franchise were developed with joint co-operation between Turtle Rock Studios and Valve. The first title was released on October 2008 and due to its huge success and popularity, the developers churned out another one in this franchise. As a result, the fans are waiting for another sequel in the form of Left 4 Dead 3.
In the interview, Chris Rock clearly declared that Left 4 Dead 3 was not in development and from the looks of it, will not enter the production house anytime soon. It is a major disappointment for fans who are expecting a next-gen installment in the present Left 4 Dead franchise. The first two titles were released for the PC years ago; hence gamers are expecting a new release aimed at the modern generation consoles. As for us, we must keep waiting for a green light in the Left 4 Dead franchise.
However, when you think about Valve, the developer is known for major delays in sequel production. Gamers all around the world are pining, developing campaigns and others just for the sake of a nod from the developers regarding the making of this game. If Valve continues the same trend for Left 4 Dead, we might not have a sequel after all.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Left 4 Dead franchise!
