Details Revealed For Prometheus 2 and Blade Runner Sequel, Ridley Scott Talks of a ‘Fresher’ Alien!

Once again, Ridley Scott is back in the limelight with the release of Exodus: Gods and Kings, which opened this week. Along with him, it seems like the two sequels, Prometheus 2 and Blade Runner, have returned to the limelight as well. The two long-rumored films were seen in the offing for quite some time now, and Ridley Scott has been short on the details.

However, the situation has changed since he shared some information with MTV news (through Screen Rant) regarding his planning for these two movies. When asked about the possibilities of a Prometheus 2, Mr. Scott commented about the return of Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and android David (Michael Fassbender). He states that a sequel to Prometheus is certainly inevitable.

One cannot have an Android with his head off with a person who ventured into the galaxy seeking her creators. According to him, once that head has a body, David can be dangerous as well as seductive at the same time. He further added that David might somehow persuade Shaw to place the head back.

As a result, it looks like Shaw and android David will return for Prometheus 2, working his way out of trouble, with or without a body. The greater question here is how Scott will resolve all of the unanswered questions from the previous movie. Prometheus had a fascinating setup, but it had a noticeable lack of resolution.

We may get to see a ‘Fresher’ Alien Monster in Prometheus 2. According to Ridley, Xenomorphs will not make a comeback for the sequel. The alien shown in Prometheus was a definite dragon and also a mother. The Alien was real due to which it’s one of the scariest monsters in film history. Therefore, with Prometheus 2, he is trying to introduce a ‘Fresher’ form of an Alien.

In the meantime, Scott has confirmed that the script for Blade Runner is now ready. Additionally, we will not experience any voice-over from Deckard, played by Harrison Ford, which marred the initial release of Blade Runner, back in 1982. Ford will, however, return in the Blade Runner sequel. According to Ridley, he and Harrison get on well.

He sent him the script and Ford replied that it was the best thing that he has ever read. The sequel is quite relevant to what occurred in the first movie. Ridley Scott is not just doing a sequel to see how far he can go on with the action with the animation and mind-boggling special effects. According to him, it’s not quite possible as Blade Runner has a credible future. To change it, would be to sacrilegiously tamper with something that has been persuasive with everything else.
