Meanwhile, the “Destiny” brand name is expanding beyond the computer screen, as Bungie are reportedly working on a children’s book related to the game. We don’t know if it will follow the same characters and settings from the original, or if it will have a more child-friendly touch, but it’s an interesting move in any case.
The book is called “D for Destiny”, and will apparently contain bedtime stories. Whether or not they will require previous knowledge of the game or if they will be suitable for everyone remains to be seen.
We’re curious to see what other kinds of media could be released related to “Destiny”, as the game does actually have a pretty strong potential to become a household brand name. It might not seem like it at first, but Activision have been doing a great job maintaining the reputation of the game on all fronts.
And with the support of Activision as their publisher, we trust that this franchise could become even more prominent and widespread, possibly even creeping into TV and cinema in the future. Who knows, maybe a “Destiny” TV show could end up even more popular than the game that started it all several years from now. Although, of course, this is more wishful thinking rather than anything else, it’s still interesting to consider the possibility.
