Destiny DLC Coming with a Special Weapon for PlayStation 4 Gamers!

A new bundle of content is coming to “Destiny” soon, and the developers are just wrapping up their work on the major update. We’ve already seen various details about the new update, but one announcement had fans divided – it’s been revealed that gamers on the PlayStation 4 will have access to an exclusive new weapon which will not be released on the Xbox for the time being.

Not only that, but the gun will only be available for a short period of time – so those who want to get their hands on the Zen Meteor Sniper should hop on quickly after the update launches on April 12. It’s not clear what Bungie’s plans are for the availability of the weapon on the Xbox, but most gamers and critics expect to see it released for everybody sooner or later.

This wouldn’t be the first time Bungie have released something in this manner, and the studio has a certain preference to the PlayStation 4 in their initial releases. Which for some fans has been a bit strange given Bungie’s origins with “Halo” and Microsoft.

Other than the new weapon, the massive April 12 update will come with various new features and gameplay elements, and the developers have apparently been hard at work on the game’s balance too. While a PvE game typically doesn’t need any precise balance adjustments after it’s received a few updates, Bungie apparently want to make things a bit more relaxed for players going after high reputation levels, as well as those having trouble getting some of the more special items.

The developers are reportedly looking to expand the game’s story content as well, but it looks like it will be a while before they have anything specific to show in that department. This is good news for some players, but most fans seem focused on building the right kind of character at this point and have put story-related experiences to the background. Although on the other hand, that could be the perfect setting to introduce some new exciting moments for players to enjoy.

“Destiny” has also been under some criticism lately for the studio’s approach to paid content. It’s becoming more and more common to see paid, AAA-grade titles that feature various amounts of additional content for sale within the game itself. In the case of “Destiny”, players can purchase entire suits of armor, something which has been brought up as somewhat cheeky of Bungie.

Still, most players seem happy with the situation and it’s usually critics who have something to say against the game’s monetization tactics. Of course, gamers as a whole are much more open to paying for additional content – including cosmetic add-ons – nowadays, so it’s probably not that surprising that people aren’t speaking up against this. But if they’re having fun, that’s all that really matters in the end, and a player has an opportunity to decide the value of the game for themselves by choosing how much to spend on it.

In fact, looking at the game’s forums paints a picture of an overall happy community, and many gamers are pleased with the way Bungie have been approaching its development from day one. Of course, “Destiny” had its issues here and there, but the studio has generally been quick to address them, and they are also quite watchful of their own community – their reputation is actually based on that fact to a large extent.

  1. Im curious how gross lack of content, lax response to support ingame issues for unacceptably long perios of time, and a very popular negative atmosphre in the destiny community. Examples of this includes the unwillingness to bring matchmaking to raids for better part of a year, large portions of the community being unable to play the game at all the first 2 weeks of launch, a debilitating raid bug that lasted months, and the overall belief that bungie doesnt listen to player feedback.

I’m curious how this translates into a 2 sentence recognition of a few setbacks and great response from bungie since day 1.
