Destiny DLC Bugs and Exploits Being Addressed with Critical Updates!

Destiny just got its first major expansion pack recently, titled “The Dark Below”. And while players have been happy with the new content as a whole, and have been reporting very positive experiences with the new gameplay features, it wasn’t long before some exploits and bugs were uncovered, leading to unexpected results. For example, some players discovered that it was possible to skip the raid mission in Crota’s End, which lead to obvious balance issues. Meanwhile, various smaller bugs have also been plaguing the gameplay experience, taking away from the otherwise strongly positive impression from the content package.

And now, Bungie have released updates that reportedly address the new round of exploits, and bring the situation back to normal. The company has been very active in supporting their game, after they recently released a set of “legendary” gifts and distributed them among all players, giving them a chance to unlock new weapons from their packs. Each player who receives a gift is entitled to one randomly selected reward item.

The new update also addresses issues with the game’s reward system, and closes certain loopholes that have been allowing players to obtain rewards that they should normally not have been eligible for. Map rotations have been revised as well, as several new maps are now added to the playlists for Control, Clash and Iron Banner.

Bungie are also readjusting weapon balance, although this is still in progress and hasn’t been finalized with the last update. After it became obvious that the Hive Breaker upgrade has balance issues when combined with White Nail, the company has decided to disable Hive Breaker until they can find a way to get the two features to work properly alongside each other. It’s not known if there will be a nerf to either of the two upgrades, although it’s very likely.

Many encounters have been changed as well, some in minor ways, others more drastically. Mostly the changes have been addressing bugs with the different locations, but in some cases Bungie have also altered the progression of the encounters slightly in order to address issues with their pacing.

Additional updates are expected to arrive shortly, as the game still has some issues that have to be addressed after the release of “The Dark Below”. Still, Bungie have been handling the situation remarkably well, better than many companies who like to just release their major content and then sit back and enjoy the profits, disregarding any problems players might be having with the new content until they’re practically forced to address them. Hopefully, this kind of support will continue to accompany “Destiny” during its existence, which can be extended for a very long time, given the game’s great potential.
