Despite Turtle Rock’s Non-Involvement, Left 4 Dead 3 to Have the Developer’s Signature Gaming Style All Over It, More Details!

Turtle Rock Studios was the first to conceptualize the first-person shooter survival horror game “Left 4 Dead” before Valve Corporation bought in to the project and they collaborated with its development and officially released it to the PC and Xbox 360 in October 2008.

They continued the collaboration with the sequel “Left 4 Dead 2” which significantly earned a greater level of success than its predecessor when it was released in the same gaming platforms in November 2009, notes the Day Herald.

However, Turtle Rock recently announced that it will no longer be involved with “Left 4 Dead 3” and is leaving everything to Valve.

Turtle Rock co-founder Phil Robb confirmed in a February interview that they are pretty much done with the “Left 4 Dead” video game series.

He said that Turtle Rock has gone into its own direction already and the game is pretty much in the hands of Valve now. He added that the only way he and Turtle Rock can go back to the game is as a fan and not a developer.

Robb disclosed that co-developing and working on a project when both teams are working 800 miles apart is a nightmare. There was a lot of tripping over each other and no one was really happy how it worked out. So they finally decided to get independent again.

Excited over ‘Left 4 Dead 3’

Over five years since the last installment of the successful video game was released, gamers are still waiting for the next iteration of “Left 4 Dead,” which up until this time has yet to be announced by game publishers Valve and Electronic Arts.

But based on speculations that began as early as 2011, it seems likely that “Left 4 Dead 3” is a possibility. Neither Valve nor Turtle Rock however would like to announce whether the game is confirmed or not until this time.

The only notion that gamers are believing that there will be a “Left 4 Dead 3” is the fact that the first-person shooter video game has yet to make it to the next generation gaming consoles the way it deserves.

Great possibility

The possibility of “Left 4 Dead 3” heightened all the more in December last year when a game developer at Turtle Rock revealed that he is not ruling out the possibility of himself working on the video game if Valve wants it that way. Valve holds the IP to the game so they’re pretty much in charge for its direction.

It was actually Turtle Rock Studios co-founder Chris Ashton who made the remark during an interview where he was asked about the status of the game.

As early as 2013, a visitor to Valve’s headquarters in Washington has seen a “Left 4 Dead 3” reference in an internal company changelog.
