Despite High Demand, Apple iOS 8.3 Jailbreak Is Likely not Happening Due to Upcoming Release of iOS 8.4!

The beta version of the OS was already jailbroken, for what it’s worth – but of course, we can expect that Apple have patched that specific vulnerability before the release of the full version of the operating system. Part of the point of these beta tests is to sort out issues like this one exactly, and it looks like crackers will have to find another window of opportunity to exploit the OS.

Knowing the way previous versions of the OS have been jailbroken though, we can safely assume that the vulnerability that everyone is looking for will be discovered quickly enough. If not, there’s always iOS 9 – and whether or not users will have to wait for that one to come out to get their jailbreak depends entirely on the popularity of the current version.

If enough people end up upgrading to it, then the jailbreak community will also have a good incentive to come out with a patch – otherwise there’s probably not a very good chance that we’ll see this happening.

  1. Hopefully when iOS 8.4 is out, they will release the jailbreak straight away.Ive been jailed since 8.1.3

  2. i am considering just buying a used iphone 5 on ebay which will have ios7 and use that jailbreak for it and never upgrade again.

  3. I get that it takes insane effort to create a jailbreak, however this postponing has been in play since iOS 8.1.3, each time jailbreakers try the next version. In the olden days each one was jailbroken instead of the most popular version. I see that the security is tightning up and we need to keep vaunribilities a secret, but this whole mindset is consuming everyone, and in turn we live 60% of the time on our new iPhone 6 without a jailbreak. Just my 2cents

    1. 8.4 is the last update until IOS 9, so it’s smart for them to hold off until it’s released. Why jailbreak 8.3 when Apple could patch it immediately?
