We live in interesting times, and as a more recent example, we have David Guetta expressing his desire to play a whole concert in space. It may sound like a joke at first, but the DJ is apparently already in the process of discussing the possibility with company Virgin Galactic. Of course, even if the parties did manage to reach some agreement, we wouldn’t expect to see this concert for quite a while.
Some joking responses to the announcement are even questioning if David Guetta will still be able to perform by the time Virgin Galactic are in a position to organize everything for him. After all, getting the DJ up there is only part of the problem, as a concert without an audience would be a bit pointless.
It’s always possible that the gig could be set up in a way that Guetta only performs from space, while his audience is actually on Earth, but we don’t what exactly the performer is envisioning with this idea. Needless to say though, it’s pretty much guaranteed to give him huge amounts of exposure if he somehow managed to pull it off in the end.
There have been some more critical responses to the DJ’s request, including some of his fans claiming that he should focus more on producing quality new releases and less on gimmicks with little substance. Indeed, some seem to treat this as an attempt to dodge having to do any new music-related work for the time being. And while that may be true, even then it would be commendable if the DJ managed to pull off the kind of feat that he has in mind, and it would surely require huge amounts of effort.
Meanwhile, Guetta has also been in the news for another reason, as his mansion in Ibiza just got broken into again. This time, a man wielding a knife managed to get inside the property, but was subsequently apprehended by police without any major incidents. It’s not clear what the man was intending to do, but some may remember that this is not the first time Guetta’s mansion has been in the news in this context.
More interestingly, it appears to be the same person as last time, so there might be a little more to this story than just a random break-in. The suspect is reportedly being questioned over the incident, so hopefully the situation will be resolved without any further trouble for David Guetta. The DJ himself didn’t have anything to say about the incident, but we can imagine that he has stopped paying much attention to things like this after the last time it happened. It’s not rare for celebrities to be targeted by people with questionable motives and an unstable state of mind, and someone with his experience in entertainment has probably gotten used to the idea at this point.
Other than that, Guetta seems to be enjoying his life and working hard at the same time. He was recently spotted enjoying some time off with his girlfriend, Jessica Ledon, and he’s been quite active in putting out new remixes too. Whatever he actually thinks about his idea of going to space, it’s clear that this is not occupying his entire mind, and he’s still actively focused on other aspects of his work, so his fans probably have nothing to worry about if they’re concerned that he is going to make fewer releases in the near future.
