So far, theDark Souls franchise has proved to beone of the most popular games to be found currently and it is being reported that a new expansion pack is soon to be announced for Dark Souls 3. The latest DLC for Dark Souls 3 will be named as Ashes of Ariandel. It will offer a new adventure for the eager fans of the franchise.
The Dark Souls 3, Ashes of Ariandel DLC was very recently unveiled at the Tokyo Game Show 2016. Bandai Namco got fans all excited with a trailer they showed in the event. The clip for the new game update contained a mysterious winter land that is packed with new monsters and villains.
On the basis of the trailer, we gathered that gamers will have to undertake a journey to Ariandel. It is an awfully cold and frozen land. Even though we know that the expansion is titled Ashes of Ariandel, the precise plot of the game is yet to be revealed. It is expected that players will have to unearth the mysteries surrounding the land.
In a recent post by GameSpot, they said that the sudden change of location will expose the gamers to many mysteries and puzzles, which they will have to deal with as they progress in their journey.
In this voyage tainted with secrets and mysteries, they will face new opponents, weapons, magic, and difficult hurdles. The players’ mission is to find out clues as to why Ariendel, a once beautiful and delightful place, turned into this cold and desolate zone.
The new DLC of Dark Souls 3 will also be bringing new weapons, spells and armours for the new characters too. The expansion pack will come bearing a bigger map for players, to facilitate them explore and discover the shady mystery of this once beautiful place.
In an interview, the president of FromSoftware, Hidetaka Mizayaki, said to POLYGON that Dark Souls 3 is going to be the concluding game title for the franchise. He also had stated that there will be two upcoming DLCs, namely, the Ashes of Ariandel and another DLC, which isn’t named yet, will be developed in the near future.
Hidetaka Mizayaki, further added that the present, is the right time to come away from Dark Souls 3 and the franchise in order to explore new stuffs. The president of FromSoftware also said that the Dark Souls label will continue to strive if someone from the company comes up with new ideas for a new installment.
Meanwhile, reports conforming to iTect Post suggest that the Ashes of Ariandel, DLC will focus on a theme centred around horror and gothic, while the subsequent DLC will take ona vanilla theme.
The Dark Souls: Ashes of Ariandel, DLC will also reportedly portray improved graphics, as the game has been refurbished using Unreal Engine 4, that has next generation lighting effects. Besides the trailer, thereare alsoscreenshots, where a picture of one of the enemies, looking like Crown Demon is visible.
Ashes of Ariandel for Dark Souls III is one of the two expansion packs scheduled to be launchedon October 25. This costs around $15 in all popular consoles such as PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
A season pass was released meanwhile as well which is available for only $25. As to the title and launch date of the second DLC, there is no news yet.However, it is probably the last, downloadable content for Dark Souls 3, and is expected to come out next year.
