‘Dark Souls 3’ Game Developer Reportedly Builds a Version of the Game for Nintendo Switch, Latest Rumors Say

The action role-playing game “Dark Souls 3” was released on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and the PC early this year.

Latest rumors have it that game developer From Software has developed a new build of the video game that is running on the Nintendo Switch, the Japanese gaming company’s upcoming platform.

Nintendo Switch is reported to be launched in the spring of next year and assuming the rumors are on target about a version of “Dark Souls 3” in the gaming platform, then it is likely to come out next year as well.

However, these remain as speculations pending the confirmation from either From Software or Nintendo.

It should be noted that the rumors were based on the appearance of From Software’s logo on the big list of third-party publishers and developers pledging their support for the upcoming Nintendo gaming console, notes VG 24/7.

Accordingly, From Software managed to get “Dark Souls 3” running at a level of performance they are happy with, though it does not mention specifics including the frame-rate target.

A small development team within From Software is reportedly working on porting the game to the Nintendo Switch for several months already.

Reports also have it that the game developer is still waiting for the Nintendo Switch sales data before fully committing to developing a version of “Dark Souls 3” on Nintendo’s latest gaming console.

Fixing the bugs on the DLC

Meanwhile, a new update has been released for “Dark Souls 3” which was meant to fix an array of bugs that have hounded the recently-released DLC of the game entitled “Ashes of Ariandel.”

The patch notes include a fix for an exploit where players could fall from any height by repeatedly performing the Crow Quills skill with the Silvercat Ring equipped.

“Dark Souls 3” is one of the more impressive games that were released this year. The game has, in fact, gotten an impressive 94% review among many critics, notes the PC Gamer.

The video game is currently enjoying a 35% discount on Steam and so is the Deluxe Edition of its “Ashes of Ariandel.”

VR version of ‘Dark Souls 3’

Seven months after “Dark Souls 3” was released in the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and the PC, game producer Atsuo Yoshimura disclosed that he wants to bring the game into virtual reality (VR).

In an interview during the Golden Joystick Awards held on November 18, Yoshimura said that he is definitely pushing for a VR version of “Dark Souls 3.” However, he also went on to clarify his statement when he added that the entire development team was hoping to produce a VR “Dark Souls 3” game.

This would mean that while Yoshimura and the development team would like to develop a VR version of “Dark Souls 3,” it seems that the game developer has not yet given the green light for it.

Otherwise, Yoshimura would not have said the word hoping and instead say that the development team is now working to produce a VR version of the game.

But the statement was more than enough to encourage and excite fans and gamers of “Dark Souls 3” as they would really want to see how such a wonderful game would play out and how popular would it become.

Dark Souls 3

However, some critics are also saying that “Dark Souls 3 VR” would have been a lot better than the glorified tech demo like “Batman Arkham VR,” which came out more as a detective game rather than a slam-bang action game that the Dark Knight is known for.

“Dark Souls 3” is regarded as one of the most difficult video games ever made. In fact, a number of players have quit playing the game because of the supposed insane level of difficulty.
