Actor Danny Strong, best known for his role in the TV series “Gilmore Girls” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” has recently announced his engagement with Indie actress Caitlin Mehner. He subsequently shared a photo on Instagram of his fiance rocking a stunning diamond ring that he gave after he proposed marriage to her.
Strong made the announcement of his engagement with Mehner on December 30 after dating for three and a half years already. They are set to tie the knot soon but no details have been disclosed thus far of their wedding.
The 42-year-old Danny Strong is not only an actor, he is also a screenwriter and a producer. He wrote the screenplay for “Recount,” the HBO adaption “Game Change,” Lee Daniels’ film “The Butler” and the two-part finale of “The Hunger Games” film trilogy.
He is also a co-creator, executive producer, and writer for the Fox hit series “Empire.” He has won two Emmy awards, two Writers Guild of America awards, a Producers Guild of America award, and a NAACP Image award.
Their love story in caption
He captioned the post he made on Instagram with pretty much their romance when he said that he saw the cutest girl he has ever seen three and a half years ago and got up the nerve to talk to her. Strong narrated that Caitlin gave him her phone number but there was a missing digit.
The actor said that he was convinced that she made a mistake so he tracked her down and asked her out.
He went on to say that on the eve of December 29, he got up the nerve to ask Caitlin to marry him and she said yes. He ended his caption by saying the moral of their romantic story – never be deterred by a missing digit.
Strong also ended his caption with a ‘Love you’ and a hashtag #yes while directing it to Caitlin Mehner, the Daily Mail of UK reported.
The Emmy-winning writer proposed to his longtime girlfriend while they were vacationing in Hawaii.
Better known as Doyle McMaster
Danny Strong is a California-born talent who is best remembered as Doyle McMaster, Rory Gilmore’s Yale peer from the beloved TV series “Gilmore Girls.”
Danny also helped create several wildly successful films and series as a screenwriter and producer.
The University of Southern Carolina graduate wrote the script to the critically acclaimed 2010 Lee Daniel’s film “The Butler” and also helped Daniels create the TV sensation “Empire” in 2014.
It seems that Danny planned the proposal while on the road just before the New Year. The Hawaii trip was their final getaway for 2016 and he made sure that the year leaves with a bang for their relationship.
None can be grander for Caitlin than Danny making his proposal to marry her so the ‘yes’ was almost instantaneous.
Followers of Danny and Caitlin on social media were treated to a clear view of the engagement ring that will make any lady swoon, notes E! Online.
Danny was one of the many “Gilmore Girls” stars who returned to Netflix for the miniseries “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.”
His character Doyle McMaster served as the editor of the Yale Daily News and a love interest for Paris Geller, played by Liza Weill. He would appear in both the spring and summer episodes of the four-part series.
Before wedding planning begins in the new year, Danny and Caitlin appear to be more than ready to celebrate their new relationship status.
Danny Strong has also appeared in films such as “Pleasantville,” “Dangerous Minds,” “Seabiscuit,” the spoof “Shriek If You Know What I Did Last Friday The Thirteenth,” and was in the film “Sydney White” as the Grumpy dork, Gurkin.
