The James Bond films are based on the novels written by Ian Fleming. Dynamite has been working on comic books based on the original James Bond novels, and they have recently launched a series on Felix Leiter.
James Robinson and Aaron Campbell felt that Leiter has been a character who has been around the same time as Bond, but he never got the chance to shine. Unlike Bond, Felix Leiter has always been a passive observer in the novels and films.
Leiter has always tried to catch up with what Bond was doing. However, he hardly ever got to enjoy the limelight. Since Leiter would remain in the background and have more actors play him than the lead role, the viewers could never really associate with him, since he didn’t have a distinctive identity.
The James Bond mini-series on Felix Leiter will change that for the character. Since there are different versions of the character in the James Bond novels and films, Dynamite series is looking to make their character a little different from the ones already depicted.
Leiter in the mini-series would get the opportunity to come out of James Bond’s shadow and make a name for himself, growing and advancing thanks to his merit.
