Season 21 of the long-running celebrity dance competition “Dancing with the Stars” on ABC will return to the small screen on September 14.
With less than three months to go before its airing, fans are both excited and eager to know who will make up the complete roster of competitors for the upcoming season.
But the pro dancers of the popular dance competition TV show seriously want one controversial celebrity to join the show for its Season 21. And it’s no other than Caitlyn Jenner, who is currently the cover model of Vanity Fair. They have been pushing the producers to make Caitlyn Jenner finally agree to the offer as she will really be a welcome addition to the popular and top-rating show, notes Christian Today.
Should she agrees to join the dance competition, Caitlyn Jenner will be the third member of the Kardashian family to have taken part in the show after Kim Kardashian did it during the show’s Season 7 and Rob Kardashian on Season 13.
Although technically, Caitlyn is not a Kardashian, she is nonetheless an extended Kardashian family member since her previous persona, Bruce Jenner, was once married to the Kardashian matriarch, Kris Jenner.
The pros want her
Former “Dancing with the Stars” pro Cheryl Burke believes that Caitlyn would really be great and amazing on the upcoming season of the TV series. She was actually paired with Rob Kardashian on Season 13 of the show and they ended on the second spot.
Pro dancer Mark Ballas also wants to be partnered with Caitlyn Jenner. He was the partner of Kim Kardashian during the show’s seventh season and their pair was the third to be eliminated that time.
Another pro dancer who wants Caitlyn onboard the next season of “Dancing with the Stars” is five-time Mirror Ball trophy winner Derek Hough.
When asked recently who among the many celebrities he has already danced with in “Dancing with the Stars” is his favorite, Derek picked “American Idol” star and country music singer Kellie Pickler. He recalled that it was the time when he came back to the show after a brief hiatus bringing along with him a renewed outlook and perspective. He said that it was like joining the show again for the very first time that is why he finds the season and his partner Kellie very special, notes The Washington Post.
In the event that Caitlyn agrees and she becomes Derek’s partner, many believe that he will have a new favorite celebrity dance partner soon after.
Some obstacles
But the show producers are apparently having a difficult time convincing the controversial Caitlyn Jenner to join the competition.
“Dancing with the Stars” is starting to lose hope of finally being able to persuade Caitlyn to agree and take part in Season 21 of the show. A source from the show revealed that an offer has been made to Caitlyn, but accordingly, her concurrence will have to depend on a couple of factors including scheduling, money, and a few other bumps.
The same source said that the producers are beginning to feel that they would not be able to get Caitlyn for the show in time for its premiere episode so they are already contemplating of giving up their chase.
But according to a representative of the controversial celebrity, Caitlyn has not received any offer from ABC or the producers of “Dancing with the Stars.”
The show jumped the shark when it used Olympian Gold Medal skaters as contestants who were dance students as part of their training…when they won it (THEY—there were two mirrored-ball Champions that fit this)…I knew it was NOT A FAIR CONTEST….. Now this! Isn’t it bad enough Caitlyn took the ESPN award away from some others more deserving? Shame on ABC for even considering this! Another reason to tune out~
I would be glued to my TV watching two men hoofing it together while one strains to lift the other. It would be good entertainment for sure.
