Season 6 of the American dance competition reality show “Dance Moms” on the Lifetime network is set to premiere early on January 5, 2016 and since it is just mere days away, spoilers and leaks about the popular TV series are starting to gain full steam on the internet.
One of the more interesting rumors about the upcoming sixth season of “Dance Moms” is the likely unavailability of star dancer Maddie Ziegler for a good number of episodes of the TV show.
In fact, there are reports that in the ongoing filming of “Dance Moms” Season 6, Maddie has been noticeably absent for the first three weeks already which is also the first three episodes of the show. But that is certainly not going to be the last of her absence as she gets busier with her other commitments outside of “Dance Moms.”
Dance leader Abby Lee Miller remains mum on the controversy surrounding the absence of her star student. While Maddie being absent did not entirely affect the performance of the dance group that also features Mackenzie Ziegler, Nia Frazier, and Kendall Vertes, there is no denying that Abby is losing her once-tight hold over the young dancer, points out The Oceanside Post.
In fact, many fans are now getting curious whether Maddie would still be coming back to the show or not.
The breakout star
Maddie Ziegler is the breakout star of “Dance Moms” Season 5. After the Season 5 finale of the TV series, she has previously been rumored as not returning to Season 6 of the dance competition reality show.
Ziegler has starred in two of Sia’s music videos – “Chandelier” and “Elastic Heart” – and said that she would like to focus more on acting rather than dancing. In fact, she will be starring on Sia’s upcoming movie titled “Sister.”
There were also previous reports that the 13-year-old girl wants to continue her dancing even as she expressed her desire to act on movies and scripted TV shows. But the dancing she was referring to may no longer be with “Dance Moms” as Maddie reportedly auditioned for the Teen Vogue’s Young Hollywood 2015 list, according to the rumors then.
She also posted her photo in her Instagram account and captioned it telling her fans to watch the cast of the Young Hollywood Portfolio during their audition tapes. She also gave a link showing her bio where she was seen doing pirouettes, dancing on tables, playing with a cake, and showing off her latest moves in her video audition clip.
It seems that the decision of Maddie Ziegler will depend on her being accepted by Teen Vogue. So if she gets accepted, she will most likely give up “Dance Moms,” which appears to be her safety net at this time.
Now that she is confirmed for Season 6 of “Dance Moms,” it appears that her Teen Vogue dream will be set in the backburner, at least for the time being.
However, it will not be a full-time participation for Maddie Ziegler in the upcoming season as reports have it that Maddie will not be available in some episodes of “Dance Moms” as she will be busy working on other things, notes the Day Herald.
Busy filming for the big screen
According to sources, Ziegler is absent from the filming of “Dance Moms” Season 6 during the first three weeks because she is in New York and is also filming for the upcoming movie “The Book of Henry” where she plays the role of Christina. She co-stars with Naomi Watts, Lee Pace, and Sarah Silverman in the film.
Ziegler shall also showcase her dancing skills in the film. Because of her commitments with the film, there are reports saying that the young dancer might actually be unavailable for the fourth episode of “Dance Moms” Season 6.
In fact, reports have it that Lifetime is now getting worried about the continuing unavailability of Ziegler on their prized TV show.
Dance moms is a really good show I think Abby is a great teacher and Maddie is my favorite dancer in the show I also like Chloe she inspires herself and the other dancers are really great but some times I think why do the moms fight over stupid stuf it’s like come on nobody is trying to hear that so just have a good day and no more fighting
