There is still a lot of debate over the future of “Dance Moms”, and it’s entirely possible that the show might not stay on the air for long, given the current situation. Many people involved with the show have been expressing their disappointment over it recently, and have been targeting their frustration towards its producers, the network running the show, as well as their fellow co-stars.
The most recent conflict that we saw with the production of “Dance Moms” was with Kalani Hiliker, who has reportedly recently dropped out of the Abby Lee Dance Company after a serious confrontation that she had with their instructor, Abby Lee Miller. Now, this has prompted many to believe that she will be leaving “Dance Moms” for good as well.
We recently got to see yet another tense confrontation between Kalani Hiliker, Kira Girard (her mother), and Abby Lee Miller. The episode was actually titled “Abby vs. Kira… AGAIN!”, and it was what prompted Kalani to depart from her involvement with the company after she claimed she was being treated unfairly by her instructor.
According to her claims, her instructor made it clear that she was not wanted there, and she “got the hint” and was moving on to something else. At one point, Abby pulled her out from a group number because she thought it would advance the ALDC to an upper age bracket, which caused some conflict behind the scenes, according to reports. However, at the end of the episode, Kalani was reportedly still indecisive about departing for good, and was considering giving the ALDC another chance.
Kira also said that some scenes from the last episode that were widely discussed and became the subject of much controversy were actually carefully edited to give the wrong impression, and they misrepresented the situation a little bit. Kalani had walked out as soon as she was pulled out from the group, not after the awards, and her decision had already been made in advance.
Now, fans are wondering if the most recent confrontation we saw between Kalani and Abby will prompt Kalani to follow Maddie Ziegler and get out of the show completely. This wouldn’t be too surprising to many people, and it’s actually expected that we’re going to see some rather negative developments regarding the show’s cast soon enough.
Ziegler was already unsure if she wanted to continue her work on the show before she made the announcement that she was dropping out. She said that she would rather star in “Pretty Little Liars” – in which she has already made an appearance before – rather than in “Dance Moms”, and she has apparently lost all interest in the production at this point.
Meanwhile, Chloe Lukasiak, another one of the show’s stars, has received a lot of recognition at the VIP Dance Nationals with her Studio 19 team. They reportedly delivered a solid performance at the event’s finals, and were given the title of national champions over the weekend. This was all confirmed by both Lukasiak as well as the studio itself through an update on their Instagram page.
Studio 19 managed to snatch a few more awards at the event as well, as they were given the title of Hollywood Studio of the Week, Top Broadway Level, and the highest-scoring choreography award. Many fans of “Dance Moms” were excitedly discussing the news on social media, and the event definitely did not go unrecognized. So at least the show has been getting some positive recognition in the news as well.
