It manages to combine fans from two distinct types of audiences, and it’s done that with quite a lot of success so far. Of course, other factors ended up playing into the popularity of the show and dragging it down somewhat.
Factors like the presence of Abby Lee Miller on the screen, who has been more of a negative influence on the show in general, and it’s arguable whether it makes sense to keep her on the screen in the long run.
The producers of the show should know best in any case – if they decide that the presence of Miller isn’t that harmful to their success, then they are obviously going to keep her on the screen.
