Episode 19 of Season 6 of the dance competition reality TV show “Dance Moms” that aired on Lifetime on May 10 was a reunion special for the dance team even as it also showcased the impending departure of Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler and their mother Melissa Gisoni at the end of the current season.
While the reunion special did not feature the return of former “Dance Moms” sensation Chloe Lukasiak, she was nonetheless mentioned heavily in the episode.
Chloe Lukasiak has been the rising star of “Dance Moms” until Season 4 before she and her mom Christi decided to move on at the end of the season in 2014. She was no longer part of Season 5 of “Dance Moms” which turned out to be the breakout season for Maddie Ziegler.
It was actually Jessalyn Siwa, the mother of JoJo Siwa, who revealed that the absence of dance leader Abby Lee Miller from two competitions in the sixth season of “Dance Moms” has something to do with Chloe.
She said in an interview that she knows for a fact that the non-appearance of the dance coach at one event was because she was thinking of Chloe Lukasiak, especially when she learned of the news regarding the 14-year-old’s blossoming movie career, reports the International Business Times.
Chloe was included recently as a cast member of Lifetime’s TV movie “Center Stage: On Pointe,” a sequel to the hit “Center Stage” shown back in 2000. She has also been cast in the film “Cowgirl’s Story” which was just announced on May 10.
Not allowed to talk about Chloe
When confronted by the other dance moms regarding the revelation that she is envious of Chloe’s rising movie career, Abby Lee did not confirm nor deny it directly.
She said that she did not know or remember where she was at the time of those competitions where she was not around.
But Jessalyn sarcastically told her that it was the week that she found out that Chloe booked a movie. Kira Girard then added that it sent the dance leader over the edge.
Abby said that they are not supposed to talk about that because she is not allowed to talk about Chloe or the Lukasiaks in “Dance Moms.”
However, not all moms agreed that Chloe was the reason for Abby’s recent breakdown. They think that Abby just did not show up for work at that time, perhaps attending on some matters, alluding also that she might have been in court to attend to her hearings on the fraud cases that was lodged against her.
Last for the Mackenzie sisters
During the episode 19 entitled “Hello and Goodbye,” Maddie and Mackenzie performed in their last competition with the team.
Abby arrived way late and everyone is on stage waiting for the dance leader even as she takes her time to get ready. When she took the stage, someone comes out and puts her shoes on but she says she needs a different bra. Melissa comes to help tuck Abby in, since the show was already 40 minutes late, details Celeb Dirty Laundry.
Jai Rodriguez stood as host for the competition. When Jai asks Abby about Melissa and her two daughters leaving, the dance leader said it was handled badly.
She revealed that Melissa lied for months on end and she had Maddie audition for “So You Think You Can Dance.” But Abby is happy that Maddie will play judge on the show because that means she can get tickets every week.
It was also during the revelations that Abby told them that she felt bad that the impending departure of the Zieglers was known first in the media before her. In fact, she said that she learned about it from a magazine ahead of a disclosure from Melissa.
