The Season 6 finale of “Dance Moms” featured Maddie Ziegler’s final performance on the show.
The 13-year-old dance star has decided to leave the show that brought her fame and stardom. Her mother Melissa Ziegler-Gisoni and her sister Mackenzie has also said farewell to the program.
Yahoo reports that the Season 6 finale was an emotional episode for the Zieglers as they bid goodbye to their fellow dancers, dance moms, and to the show that gave them a name in the industry.
Maddie’s co-dancers gave her and Mackenzie tight hugs before performing together in their final competition while Melissa was in tears as she watched her daughters dance in rehearsal.
The three then shared a special moment onstage after their performance. In tears, Melissa thanked Abby Lee Miller for all her support to their family. Maddie and Mackenzie thanked Abby as well as their fellow dancers and dance moms.
Both sisters were unable to continue their message as they were already sobbing halfway through their speeches.
Melissa broke the news to her daughters that they won’t be in Season 7 of the Lifetime show anymore during the 12th episode of the current season, but rumors were already mounting about their impending departure that time.
International Business Times reports that Maddie’s departure is a significant loss to “Dance Moms.” Fans note the series will never be the same without the Zieglers in it.
Maddie first joined the Lifetime reality TV series during its pilot season at the age of 8 and has since proven to a be a bonafide star in her own right.
“Dance Moms” and Abby Lee Miller made Maddie a household name in the world of dancing and entertainment. However, the dancer is now ready to break out and continue elevating her career to new and greater heights.
As per Bustle, a return for futures season of the show let alone a cameo seems unlikely for Maddie as of now.
The Pennsylvania native will be back on TV before fans even know it as she has been added to the roster of judges on “So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation.”
She will join Jason Derulo, Paula Abdul, and Nigel Lythgoe. The show will premiere on May 30. Crossmap notes that Ziegler is the perfect addition to the iteration of the dance competition series since it will be catering to dancers from ages 8 to 13.
The YouTube sensation also has made it clear that she wants to pursue an acting career. She already has had TV roles in Freeform’s “Pretty Little Liars” and she’s about to make her film debut this year in “The Book of Henry.”
Maddie joins Naomi Watts, Lee Pace, Sarah Silverman, and Dean Norris in the film. The film is directed by Collin Trevorrow, the director of “Jurassic World.”
Ziegler is also set to be a voice actor in the upcoming film entitled “Ballerina.” Elle Fanning will voice the main character of Felicie, an orphan who dreams of becoming a ballerina at the Paris opera.
Details about Maddie’s character are not available yet, but Variety states that the film is slated to hit theaters by early 2017.
Ziegler may have left “Dance Moms” but she’s never leaving her craft for dancing. Considering that she’s the face of the Capezio dance brand and even made the film “Dance in You” for the brand in February, her name will still be synonymous to dancing.
Fans of the young dancer will be happy to know that Maddie’s collaboration with musician Sia will still continue.
The Inquisitr notes that undeniably, Maddie’s greatest career move to date has been her association and collaborative works with the “Chandelier” hitmaker.
