Frank Gore, running back of the Indianapolis Colts won the Art Rooney Award even as Kyle Shanahan of the Atlanta Falcons won as the AP Assistant Coach of the Year.
Jordy Nelson, wide receiver of the Green Bay Packers was adjudged as the AP Comeback Player of the Year while Joey Bosa, defensive end of the Los Angeles Charges got the nod as the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Everyone already knew that the AP Offensive of the Year would belong to Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys, who decided to share the honors with fellow Cowboys rookie Ezekiel Elliott.
The AP Defensive Player of the Year honors went to Khalil Mack, defensive end and line backer of the Oakland Raiders while the AP Offensive Player of the Year was already a shoo-in for Matt Ryan.
The AP Coach of the Year went to Dallas Cowboys’ Jason Garrett, besting out Super Bowl-winning coach Bill Belichick of the New England Patriots, Dan Quinn of the Atlanta Falcons, Mike McCarthy of the Green Bay Packers, and Mike Tomlin of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Apparently, the votes for the NFL awards was based on the regular season play and performances of the players, coaches, and teams, which is why the Dallas Cowboys actually got four major awards on the night of February 4.
