Will the show go on without Gibson? “Criminal Minds” has already lost a cast member before, and it turned out fine in the long run. The show’s ratings actually saw some improvement during that time, as the producers put extra effort into keeping their viewers happy.
So, even though that Gibson’s character had a major role in the plot, removing him from the equation doesn’t have to mean the end of “Criminal Minds” for good. In fact, it could open up the doors to new ideas that the producers could never try before, but that’s taking things into the territory of wishful thinking.
Fans seem conflicted on whether or not the producers should bring in extra characters to compensate for the absence of Aaron. This could be a great opportunity for the writers to explore the relationships of some characters in more detail now that there is one less slot to fill.
All we can do now is wait and see what happens, but things definitely don’t look very good for fans of “Criminal Minds”. No matter what the final outcome will be, the show is guaranteed to change significantly in its next season. Whether or not those changes work in its favor is hard to predict, but we’re hoping that this incident doesn’t kill the entire production. We mentioned “Top Gear” as an example of a similar incident above, and that turned out fine in the end, so there is hope.
My husband & myself will no longer be watching Criminal Minds if he really is fired. It won’t be the same show without him. Fans will be not watching in droves. Stupid move
Ya. You’ve got that right.
