‘Criminal Minds’ Season 11 Midseason Finale Still Did Not Put a Wrap on The Dirty Dozen!

Contrary to previous reports or rumors that the American police procedural drama TV series “Criminal Minds” on CBS will put a wrap or, at least, give a major focus on the whereabouts of the group of hitmen known as The Dirty Dozen before it takes on its customary winter break, nothing of that sort happened during its midseason finale that aired on December 9.

Episode 10, titled “Future Perfect,” showed very little storyline progress about The Dirty Dozen except for showing Penelope Garcia, played by Kirsten Simone Vangsness, whiling her time away in the modified witness protection program by playing poker with David Rossi, played by Joe Mantegna.

The problem is, not even a game of poker with Rossi for fuzzy pencils and cigars can distract Garcia from why she is in the program, notes Buddy TV.

Rossi tried to assure her that everything will be back to normal. Garcia also feels the same although she admits that she is scared that she would be stuck at the BAU like she is now because of the threat on her life.

Rossi also assured her that the BAU will take The Dirty Dozen down and that she can do her part by staying strong.

Light at the end of the tunnel

However, the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel for Garcia on her quest to extinguish the threat from The Dirty Dozen suddenly loomed when Senior Supervisory Special Agent Aaron Hotch, played by Thomas Gibson, showed up in her quarters at the FBI.

She immediately sensed the urgency in Hotch’s voice that she came with him without even changing out of her pajamas. Apparently, it is about a major breakthrough on The Dirty Dozen case and that the BAU may have found a way to bring the whole network down.

Thus, it is likely that the rumored wrap or full details on The Dirty Dozen would happen towards the second half of “Criminal Minds.” Episode 11 will premiere on January 13, 2016.

This is a bit of good news for fans of the popular TV series as they will not have a lengthy gap between episodes like some shows have heading into the Holiday break each year, notes the Inquisitr.

Fetish for medical experiments

Meanwhile, the midseason finale episode of “Criminal Minds” showed the BAU tackling a case where the suspect is obsessed with medical experiments.

The killer in the case was utilizing some unique methods and unsettling approaches that were eventually uncovered by the BAU as the victims were examined.

Although a lot of possibilities and motives were initially considered including drug or gang involvement, it eventually becomes clear that the killer has a different agenda.

Episode 10 of “Criminal Minds” actually resembles more an episode of another police procedural drama TV series “Bones,” because of the grotesque nature of how the killer was getting rid of his victims over at Florida.

The team eventually discovers that the killer is doing medical experiments on animals like jellyfish, turtles, sea urchin, and scarlet macaw as the creatures apparently have long life spans.

It turns out that the killer is focusing on longevity and not curing a specific disease, contrary to initial assumption. It is also why he refers to the cemetery as a magical place because it is near the legendary fountain of youth.

Criminal Minds Season 11

It can be recalled that at the start of Season 11 of “Criminal Minds” the producers and showrunner revealed that the season will give a pretty significant focus on ‘The Dirty Dozen.’

Given how “Criminal Minds” works out its every episode, there is always a closure at the end. So when fans learned about The Dirty Dozen plot, they thought that it will just be a few appearances for the group of hitmen in a couple of episodes.
