Jennifer Jareau or JJ will return to the Behavioural Analysis Unit (BAU) on the next episode of the American police procedural drama TV series “Criminal Minds” on CBS to air on November 11.
It can be recalled that JJ filed for a maternity leave of absence with the BAU during the final stretch of Season 10 last year, which is parallel to the pregnancy of actress AJ Cook, who plays her character.
After giving birth and getting back in shape, it seems that AJ was ready to be back to the TV series. Her decision was more than just a welcome news to the showrunners notwithstanding that agent Kate Callahan, played by Jennifer Love Hewitt, also went on leave because of pregnancy.
Reports now have it that it seems likely that Jennifer Love Hewitt will also return to the Season 11 of “Criminal Minds” in its last few episodes since the show is booked for 22 episodes and it still has to air 16 more episodes at this time.
Interestingly, when JJ returns on the upcoming seventh episode of the TV series, she will be hitting the ground running as she and the BAU team will be thrown into a mysterious disappearance case of a college student. The case was reported by Joy, the daughter of their senior supervisory special agent David Rossi, played by Joe Mantegna.
The seventh episode, titled “Target Rich” will see the BAU team, including JJ, travelling to San Francisco where they will liaise with Joy, a journalist who is probing the disappearance of a female college student.
In the trailer for the upcoming episode of “Criminal Minds,” Joy, to be played by Amber Stevens West, was seen asking questions from a young man who claimed that he has witnessed what happened. The witness recounted the events with the BAU team around so they knew that the case was quite serious, details Movie News Guide.
A traitor in their midst
While the BAU team was busy in San Francisco, informant Giuseppe Montolo, played by Robert Neary, will die in prison but not before he reveals to Agent Derek Morgan, played by Shemar Moore, the whereabouts of the ‘Dirty Dozen.’ The ‘Dirty Dozen’ is the underground group of hitmen who has so far avoided the detection of authorities, notes the Christian Today.
Meanwhile, more and more BAU team members are getting convinced that there is a mole in their midst. With the death of Montolo, the team is faced yet again with the unenviable task of locating the underground group.
Dr. Tara Lewis, played by Aisha Tyler, managed to hold the fort while JJ was on leave, but the presence of the grizzled veteran detective surely boosted everyone’s confidence.
During the sixth episode of the TV series shown on November 4, a woman was murdered in a town filled mostly with sex offenders, which made it extremely difficult for the BAU to identify, much less apprehend the killer.
The victim was found wearing a cheerleader uniform. While initial evidence points to her husband as the guilty party, an eyewitness to the murder said otherwise. It turns out that a serial killer who had fantasies involving peplums was roaming around.
The killer targeted the sheriff’s daughter next as she was once a cheerleader too. The good news is that the BAU got to the girl first so they were able to save the girl from the culprit that could really hurt her.
A big bang premiere
Season 11 of “Criminal Minds” on CBS started with a big bang during its premiere episode on September 30. The show did not let up on the suspense and the action-packed sequences on the second episode titled “The Witness” which aired on October 7, leaving fans and viewers in awe and asking for more.
