Agent Prentiss’ return to BAU had something to do with a serial killer at large in Europe, who she believes, has set his sight on having his next victim in America, particularly in Los Angeles.
The BAU headed to LA after unearthing a security footage which shed some lights on a case. Jennifer Jareau is seen revealing the perpetrator needed his victims to allow him into their homes.
In the next scene, it is revealed that the UnSub masquerades as the FBI by flashing a badge to get into his victims’ homes.
Eventually, JJ made her most chilling assessment for the BAU – that the killer could actually be a member of the FBI.
The episode, titled “A Badge and a Gun” clearly featured the UnSub showing his FBI badge to bait his prospective victims into trusting him before killing them.
Agent Natalie Colfax came in to help the BAU team as she is already based at L.A. and the UnSub is working on an area that was basically under her jurisdiction.
She assisted the BAU in their quest to hunt down the serial killer. The last time that Agent Colfax appeared as a guest in “Criminal Minds” was during the second episode of the popular TV series in the current Season 11 entitled “The Witness.”
