‘Constantine’ Season 2 Very Likely to be Revived by The CW to Complete its TV Series Roster Based on DC Comics

Over the past couple of months, there have been rumors saying that the American supernatural drama TV series “Constantine” will be revived soon for Season 2 on The CW network.

The first main reason was because of the fact that the network’s sister company, CW Seed, started airing the first season of “Constantine” when it was released on NBC last year.

Those who are familiar with “Constantine” know that towards the end of the Season 1 finale, there was a major cliffhanger involving the apparent betrayal of John Constantine by the angel named Manny.

Unfortunately for the fans, NBC canceled the TV series after Season 1 leaving a major cliffhanger for “Constantine” with no answer in sight.

The possibility of “Constantine” being revived on The CW seems very high at this point since the network is already home to at least five TV series based on DC Comics. These are “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl,” “Legends of Tomorrow,” and “iZombie.”

Certainly, there is room for more and “Constantine” happens to be one TV show which has a solid fan base plus the fact that it is also based on DC Comics.

Fans took it as a sign that The CW will likely host “Constantine” Season 2. The network has yet to reveal any sort of plan for the show.

However, there have been reports saying that The CW wants another series to replace the timeslot after “The Vampire Diaries” Season 8. This is to keep the lineup of horror shows every Friday. Latest reports also have it that “Supernatural” and “Constantine” will reportedly be on the list effective 2017, details Movie News Guide.

Out on DVD and Blu-Ray

Another indication that Season 2 of “Constantine” may just be around the corner started heating up when Warner Bros released the DVD and Blu-Ray version of Season 1 of “Constantine” early last month.

Even after NBC canceled “Constantine,” John Constantine, played by Welsh actor Matt Ryan, still appeared in an episode of “Arrow” last year. Back then, fans believe that it would not be the last cameo appearance for the Hellblazer.

Reports have it that Matt Ryan as John Constantine will have a couple of cameo roles for the TV series’ “Legends of Tomorrow.”

Marc Guggenheim, the executive producer of The CW series, also teased Constantine’s appearance on his show. He has also been very vocal about his interest to sponsor the character, notes the Christian Times.

But there is a possible technical obstacle for “Constantine” Season 2 on The CW. Reports have it that the American fictional comedy-drama TV series “iZombie” is also eyeing the time slot to be vacated by “The Vampire Diaries.”

However, fans are confidently hopeful that The CW would be able to flesh everything out before or after “The Vampire Diaries” makes its final bow on the network.

Wanting to see Kevin soon

According to latest reports, a number of fans are already getting excited about seeing John Constantine again on the small screen after his short=lived stint on NBC last year.

Its first episode aired in October 2014 and fans followed Constantine’s journey throughout the entire season. However, due to the storyline, it was quite tough translating John Constantine’s adventures into the small screen.

John Constantine is a known demon hunter and occult detective in the DC Comics universe. Back when it was still airing its Season 1 on NBC, John Constantine was seen fighting off supernatural enemies who threatened the world due to the ‘Rising Darkness’ while trying to save innocent people.

But The CW has yet to make an official announcement or statement regarding its supposed move to revive “Constantine” for a second season.

Warner Bros has announced that it would be releasing the complete Season 1 of the American supernatural drama TV series “Constantine” on DVD and Blu-Ray on October 4. The announcement has triggered speculations that it is possible that Season 2 of the TV series could be next in line.
