Constantine Season 2 Is Still not Dead in the Eyes of Fans as a New Petition Appears!

It’s been known for a while now that “Constantine” is not getting a second season, even though many fans of the show were hoping to see it continued. Apparently, the ratings of the first season were not quite good enough, even though the show managed to establish quite the solid following of fans and many people were actively looking for any information about its new season. It would appear that the following of the show was more of a cult one and not really the kind of mainstream popularity that the producers were hoping for.

In the end, the network decided to pull the plug. However, fans have apparently still not given up on the idea of seeing the show coming back to the screen, as they have started a new petition to bring it back to the screen. The petition has been gaining speed quite fast too, with more than 60,000 signatures at the moment and the number growing rapidly.

This could be seen as a bit surprising, as the interest in the show’s revival didn’t seem so strong back when the cancellation of season 2 was originally announced, but it’s still definitely good to see that the fans of “Constantine” don’t consider their favorite show to be dead yet.

The petition initially had a goal of 50,000 signatures, and we don’t know if its organizers are going to do something even more serious if they manage to get significantly more than that number, as they are already well on the way in that direction. Other than sending the petition with all its signatures to the network though, there isn’t that much that can be done. And even then, it’s not very clear if NBC could be swayed by a move like this.

In the end, the network mostly cares about their ratings in the first place, and they can still see how the show performed during its first season. With that in mind, the number of signatures under this petition might have to be significantly higher in order to impress the people making the important decisions, as “Constantine” would need to have a lot more viewers in order to be truly successful and justify its time slot.

Not all hope is lost though – even if the show itself isn’t revived, the main character at least still made an appearance in another production, “Arrow”. This has been known by fans of both shows for a while now, and the cross episode saw a very good reception by fans with some very strong ratings for “Arrow” itself. This gave a lot of hope to fans of “Constantine” that they might see their own favorite character coming back to the screen in his own show, as the huge surge of interest towards “Arrow” with this special episode should be a clear sign that people want to see more of Constantine and they are actively interested in the character.

If the petition picks up even more, and on the other hand if there are more active talks about Constantine (the character) in the news and among TV fans, this could potentially extend some hope for fans of the show that NBC could revert on their decision and bring the production back to the screen. At this point, it’s starting to seem a bit unlikely, but in the end hope always dies last and the fans of “Constantine” are not going to give up anytime soon from what it seems.
