‘Constantine’ Season 2 is Officially Cancelled but a Possible Crossover with ‘Arrow’ Might be the Lead Character’s Comeback

Daniel Cerone, executive producer of the show, tried his best to have the show renewed for a second season but to no avail. NBC also tried to keep the show going by lobbying it to other networks with rumors that The CW was the one to carry the show’s second season, but the network immediately denied the reports that it was interested in rescuing the show from cancellation.

After unsuccessful attempts, NBC announced the show’s cancellation last May. Cerone broke the news that the show has been canceled and that all efforts in trying to keep “Constantine” up for a second season have been exhausted.

Matt Ryan himself took to Twitter his farewell and gratitude to the show’s supporters. The 34-year-old actor thanked the Hellblazer fans for never giving up. He admitted that he’s very sad that he won’t be continuing John Constantine’s journey anymore. Ryan says that he had a great time playing Constantine and that he will miss the show a lot.

Fans know that no DC Comic character goes away that easily. Some of them even get their own spin-offs. Viewers of both “Arrow” and “Constantine” seem to be excited as well for the crossover to happen. Constantine fans are also pushing that John Constantine make an appearance to visit Starling City as it gives the character a chance for a proper closure and even an answer to that unresolved cliffhanger during Constantine’s series finale.
