‘Constantine’ Actor Matt Ryan Interacting with Brandon Routh’s Ray Palmer in ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ Would Really Look Weird!

Characters based on DC Comics have been making both the news and the rumor mills as of late. Apparently, with the upcoming showing of “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” on March 25 next year, interest on DC characters on comics and on the small screens has spiked significantly.

No wonder, ratings of TV shows based on DC Comics including “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Gotham,” and “Supergirl” have been on the upward trend.

As if to jump on the bandwagon, another superhero drama TV series “Legends of Tomorrow” will premiere on The CW on January 21, 2016.

“Legends of Tomorrow” is actually a spinoff of “The Flash,” which happens to be a spinoff TV series of “Arrow.” If the original TV series was not widely followed as it is now, it would be absurd to have a spinoff series so it is obvious that the base series is doing very well.

Constantine on ‘Legends of Tomorrow’

Reports have it that the producers of “Legends of Tomorrow” based in DC Comics are considering the possible inclusion of John Constantine as a member of the superhero group since his character is also based on DC Comics.

The rumors seems to have built momentum after Matt Ryan made a cameo appearance on episode 5 of the current fourth season of the American superhero drama TV series “Arrow” on The CW, notes Comicbook.com.

John Constantine appeared on the episode titled “Haunted” as he was sought out by Oliver Queen a.k.a. the Green Arrow, played by Stephen Amell, to help in dealing with Sara Lance, played by Caity Lotz, as she has become a danger to practically everyone after her magical resurrection in the Lazarus Pit turned her wild, unpredictable, and more deadly.

However, John Constantine’s appearance on “Legends of Tomorrow,” assuming it pushes through, could happen on the show’s second season.

Unfortunately, Season 2 of “Legends of Tomorrow” is still hypothetical at this time given the reports that the show is very expensive to produce. There are even reports that the show might be replaced by a totally different TV series.

One other thing that fans and critics would find weird is seeing Matt Ryan’s John Constantine interacting with a goofball like Brandon Routh’s Ray Palmer, who is the alter-ego of The ATOM, notes A.V. Club.

But since Season 1 of “Legends of Tomorrow” has yet to premiere, it is really too premature to even think about its Season 2 or the possible guesting or inclusion of John Constantine on the roster of cast members.

A bucket list

According to a source privy to the production of “Legends of Tomorrow,” any discussion about who is going to be part or not of Season 2 appears to be a bucket list for the time being.

The reports about John Constantine being part of “Legends of Tomorrow” said that Matt Ryan may be taken in around the second season, especially considering the fact that Season 1 of the TV series is a bit on the star-studded side. And with the special effects needed to make all these superheroes look good in their action scenes, the cost of production is quite huge.
