The iPhone has been in a bit of a stagnant state lately, as Apple have been failing to innovate the device enough with its last releases – at least according to the most vocal critics and fans of the company. And if one looks through the history of the line, it does seem apparent that Apple are putting less effort into developing the iPhone in an original way, and although each new iPhone does bring something new to the table, those improvements have been dying down lately. And now, the release of a set of concept images for the iPhone 7 (unofficial), combined with various rumors about the company’s plans for the new device, are shaping a completely different picture – one of an upcoming serious improvement to the iPhone.
The images are not official in any way, but they show what Apple could possibly do with the device if they wanted to meet the most common market demands at the moment. Fans of the iPhone line have been praising the author’s vision and claiming that he understands precisely how the iPhone should move forward, and most have been hopeful that Apple would be able to see things from the same angle.
At the same time, rumors about Apple’s plans for the device have been plentiful. If the most prominent ones are true, the company has decided to take a step back and reevaluate their position on the market with the iPhone. They seem to want to make the iPhone 7 a truly innovative device, the kind that Apple came to be known for, and there are various possibilities for what this could entail. A bigger, more detailed display, an updated body and more processing power – these are just some of the things that are apparently on the table right now.
Rumors also indicate that Apple might be looking into significant improvements to the device’s camera, continuing the trend from the latest iPhone which was received very positively for this particular feature. The first iPhone was mocked for having a very poor quality camera, but subsequent releases not only addressed those concerns, but actually turned the situation around and made the iPhone into a very capable camera phone.
Apple also have lots of opportunities for innovation on the software side, and they have already started to reevaluate their design philosophy for the iOS, judging from the recent changes that they implemented. It’s not just about the way it works either, as the OS has been receiving lots of significant visual overhauls lately, making it look smoother and sleeker – and there’s no doubt that this trend will continue with full force in the iPhone 7.
