It does seem like they have been a bit more focused on “Clash Royale” lately, but the popularity of that game is under question as well right now. With Supercell’s profits from it reportedly on a decline, it’s not certain how much longer they will be able to sustain the title.
One good thing that’s come out of “Clash Royale” with regards to the development of “Clash of Clans” is that the former game has introduced some new units to the mix, and some of them are already making their way to the strategy title.
The two games can be easily developed side by side, as they share a lot more than their universe, and hopefully Supercell are planning to capitalize on those similarities in the near future.
The studio should, above all, reevaluate their approach to the pricing of items in their games right now. Players have been expressing disappointment with this for some time now, especially when it comes to “Clash Royale”, and even though Supercell are still quite popular among their fans, it’s not certain how much longer they will be able to remain in that position if they don’t take the situation more seriously.
There is no shortage of player opinions to go through when one opens up a discussion board for one of their games, so the studio should definitely know what they need to do.
