When Finnish developer Supercell unveiled the much-ballyhooed “Town Hall 11” update to the freemium mobile strategy video game “Clash of Clans,” it was so confident of its latest offering
After all, the developer has been hyping about it even before the ClashCon 2015 held at its home turf in Helsinki, Finland late in October. That’s in addition to the fact, that it actually took Supercell a lot of time to fine-tune and ensure that the update comes out problem-free.
The “Town Hall 11” update to “Clash of Clans” also promised of a bigger and better gameplay as well as game balancing tweaks.
Unfortunately for Supercell, upon the launching of “Town Hall 11” update in the second week of December, fans and gamers also started complaining about the changes on the Personal Break Timers which have since been giving them fits during the game.
The Personal Break Timer is one of the many favorite features of “Clash of Clan” gamers but when the “Town Hall 11” update went live last week, there were instances where the counter continues to rise causing gamers the opportunity to get shields due to constant attacks, details Realty Today.
As a result, many of the gamers have resorted to Reddit and the “Clash of Clans” forums to raise a howl over the issue.
Unfairness of the time limits
Some of the gamers call it a blatant unfairness of the new Personal Break Timer time limits that Supercell has implemented.
Even in its home country in Finland, the local media have taken notice of the anger behind the Personal Break Timers.
Supercell initially kept mum about the whole thing but when the Finnish local media started raising a storm over the issue as well, the developer finally broke its silence and assured fans and gamers of “Clash of Clans” that it will be fixing the current issues with the Personal Break Timers, details iDigital Times.
Anoushkhka, a Supercell staff member, responded to gamer complaints on the Supercell forums when he said that their development team is looking at the data. He also assured gamers that the company does not need content creators to make gamer voices heard.
He explained that any eventual changes that will come as a result of the fan clamors will be delivered via SC first.
The Supercell staff member stated that there will be some maintenance in the coming days to “Clash of Clans” to fix some bugs and that the tweaks shall be implemented soon in order to address the issue involving the Personal Break Timers.
Getting kicked off from the game
What gamers do not want with the current setting of the Personal Break Timers that came with the “Town Hall 11” update is that they are kicked off from the game after three hours of cumulative online time without a shield.
In addition, any 30-minute rest period away from “Clash of Clans,” unless that time is spent under the Village Guard, resets the Personal Break Timers too.
Many gamers also feel that the Personal Break Timers appear to be buggy because the timer resets itself despite “CoC” players just waiting the allotted amount of time. Most of all, it has several negative effects on “Clash of Clans” players with regards to conducting wars and other higher-level play.
When Supercell officially announced the “Town Hall 11” update during the ClashCon 2015, it promised a new guard option that allows players to go on short breaks because it was meant to protect their village from sudden attacks.
The update was supposed to make the game fair for those who can’t stay online for longer hours as they are put on an even playing field with those gamers who are always online especially during attacks.
