‘Clash of Clans’ Developer to Unveil New Game Updates at ClashCon on October 24!

It’s all systems go for ClashCon, the first ever convention for “Clash of Clans” fanatics all over the world slated on October 24 at Helsinki, Finland, which is also the base of operations of its game developer Supercell.

“Clash of Clans” is the most popular freemium mobile MMO (massively multiplayer online game) strategy video game in the world.

Supercell says that ClashCon aims to unite players from all over the world as well as provide them with new features and updates on the game.

The developer also said that it has decided to pick October 24 for the date of the convention as it marks the third birthday of the mobile game.

To make the ClashCon even more exciting to “CoC” gamers and fanatics, Supercell will be releasing new updates to the mobile video game on the same day of the convention including a Level 11 Town Hall upgrade and Level 8 Barbarians.

In addition, there are speculations going around as of late saying that a new single player map might be included in the October updates with new achievements and quests plus a third hero will be added after the King and Queen, details the Christian Post.

Previous month’s updates

Last month, Supercell released updates to “Clash of Clans” including raising lightning spells at Levels 5 and 6 even as the Town Hall 10 can already level up its lightning spell to level 7.

The blue Lightning 11 walls were also turned into lava walls among other updates that also included Poison Earthquake and Freeze spells.

Because of the ClashCon, Supercell assured fans and gamers that the October updates to the “Clash of Clans” will be much bigger as the game developer’s way of expressing its profuse gratitude and support that players the world over have been throwing into the game.

There are reports that part of the updates this month is the Clan War tournaments which would provide players the chance to fight in clan versus clan tournaments, which seek to move categorize the skills of gamers and identify the better ones as every participant will be ranked in the Tournament Board.

Notwithstanding the unrelenting enthusiasm of gamers towards “CoC,” Supercell wants to give its fans and players a new gaming experience. It has been hyping up the ClashCon as of late where it intends to announce the October updates to the game.

Updating the ‘CoC’ forums

In addition to lining up updates to “Clash of Clan” this month, Supercell is now in the process of updating the “CoC” forums, notes Yibada.

Marika Appel, Supercell community manager, said that the fanbase of “Clash of Clans” is certainly genuine and very dedicated. She added that the reception of “CoC” has continued to surprise them and Supercell wants to feel that it was because of their support that resulted to the immense popularity of the mobile video game.

She said that apart from the minor changes in the gameplay, Supercell has also started a thread recently in the game forum called the ‘Ideas and Request’ section which is open to all fans and gamers who are interested in giving out suggestions for a better gaming experience with “Clash of Clans.”

Meanwhile, a recent report by Yahoo’s analytics firm Flurry indicate that gamers have been spending less time playing mobile video games this year compared to last year, and that holds particularly true for the No. 1 mobile video game “Clash of Clans.”

According to the report by the firm, mobile device users last year spent 32% of their time playing mobile video games but the number has dropped to 15% this year. While there are still a few months left before 2015 draws to a close, it is likely that the percentage would remain generally stable.

In terms of minutes played or spent on gaming, Venture Beat says that it’s a 37% decline so from a previous figure of 52 minutes spent on gaming every day, it went down to 33 minutes.
