‘Clash of Clans’ Developer Debunks Rumors that It is Planning to Shut Down the Game Because of Glitches, Bugs, and Cheats!

Finnish game developer Supercell of the freemium mobile strategy video game “Clash of Clans” has debunked rumors and speculations that it is planning to shut down the game on February 29 in order to rid it of glitches, bugs, and cheats.

Because of the popularity of the mobile game, the rumors started creating panic among the avid gamers of “Clash of Clans,” worried that they might not be able to play their favorite game starting next week.

Supercell spared no time in clearing the air of animosity and tension when it said that it is not planning to close down the game anytime soon.

It would not make any business logic for Supercell to just pull the plug on the most popular mobile video game in the world today because of the immense revenues that it is getting from the more than 100 million players that are hooked to the game from all over the world.

The “Clash of Clans” Support Team immediately made the clarification on the Supercell forum, much to the delight of gamers, although some of them already deduced that the rumors were already fake.

How the rumors started

The rumors actually started when a screenshot recently floated around Anoushka saying that “Clash of Clans” will be shutting down on February 29.

Accordingly, the game has been full of glitches, bugs, and cheats that are gradually destroying the game.

The “Clash of Clans” Support Team said that they are always working to improve the game to make it more interesting by adding new features. They added that the rumors are nothing but a hoax and assured gamers that they shall be able to continue playing the game.

Reports also have it that the speculations that “Clash of Clans” was closing is allegedly being propagated by other game developers as part of their underhand marketing tactics to be able to eat into the large market share of “Clash of Clans,” details Pinoy Trending.

The idea behind the plan is to make players of “Clash of Clans” sell their gems so that they can shift to other games.

In the Philippines where “Clash of Clans” is extremely popular, one gamer said that he was very happy that the game will be around forever. He said that he has already spent thousands of pesos just to improve his base and it would just douse cold water on all his efforts if the game suddenly closes down.

Major updates to the game in March

Amid rumors that the game will already shut down on February 29, the astute players of “Clash of Clans” are already looking forward to the major updates coming next month, which accordingly will come with a new Dark Elixir troop.

Based on the “Clash of Clans” Facebook page, the next big update for the game will arrive before April that shall already feature a new Dark Elixir troop.

However, the Finnish game developer is not yet putting everything in stone but nonetheless assured gamers that they will be hearing more about it in the next few days.

As gamers already know, if they head into the Dark Barracks, they will notice that there are only a few boxes that have troops to be made. The rest are listed as coming soon.

Clash of Clans

While nobody still knows what is coming, but a staff of Supercell did confirm that it is going to be a new Dark Elixir Troop. The informant said that the new Dark Elixir troop will likely be unlocked at Town Hall level 10.

With the arrival of the Town Hall 11 update in December last year, Town Hall 10 players have been somewhat ignored and the March update is Supercell’s way of making sure that they are also not left behind.
