Chris Evans Possibly Talking with Jodie Kidd about Getting Her on Top Gear, Reports Say, And More

Chris Evans has been confirmed to be one of the new hosts of “Top Gear”, after an unfortunate incident that put an end to Jeremy Clarkson’s contract with the show. While the move to get Clarkson off the show was highly controversial among fans and led to a lot of backlash in the community, the producers decided to stick by their decision and they sent off Clarkson for good.

Afterwards, it was confirmed that Chris Evans would be joining the cast of the show as one of its new hosts – but we still don’t know anything about the other two members of the upcoming trio. “Top Gear” always revolves around a particular concept of its three hosts interacting with each other in amusing ways, and it’s very important that there is good chemistry between them if their presence on the screen is to work out.

So far, the producers of the show have been very good at picking the right combination of hosts – even if they might handle the hosts themselves in a somewhat inappropriate way in the eyes of fans – and we’ve seen various strong episodes that really brought out the best humor in all of them. Chris Evans is already enjoying a lot of attention from fans because of the announcement that he’ll be joining, and while the show’s community was originally disappointed at the fact that Clarkson was leaving, they at least didn’t direct their anger towards Evans once his addition to the cast was announced.

Recently, we heard some reports that Evans has been in talks with Jodie Kidd about getting her on the show, but we don’t know the exact details yet. The rumors are claiming that Evans wants to add a certain female touch to the production and make it more attractive to a female audience. And it’s true that “Top Gear” could use some of that, but on the other hand, it’s also worth noting that this isn’t actually a show with a community dominated by male viewers.

One quick look at the viewer stats for “Top Gear” makes it clear that plenty of women watch it too, and they often enjoy it just as much as male fans, discussing it online and sharing posts about it on social media.

That, however, could make the decision of having Jodie Kidd – or another woman – on the set, and it could change the dynamic of the host interactions for the better, according to most fans. We don’t know if Kidd is on board with the idea yet or if she has been reluctant to agree, but we’re certainly hopeful that even if she refuses, this doesn’t turn off Chris Evans from the idea and he continues his search.

Filming for the new season was supposed to have already started, but finding new hosts has apparently proven to be more of a problem than everyone involved with the production originally expected, and it has been causing some issues in pushing things forward. We don’t know if the delay in filming will go on for much longer, but we’re as hopeful as the show’s fans that Evans will be able to get over the issues in filling up the host slots quickly enough.

Because at this point, fans are hungry for more “Top Gear” and the lack of information about their favorite show certainly adds a lot of negativity to their emotions. This is clear with one quick glance at online discussions, and it’s obvious that the show’s producers should work harder on bringing it back to the screen.
