There still seems to be some fallout from the incident, as some fans can’t let go of the fact that Clarkson won’t be presenting anymore, but it’s a harsh lesson that we all learned with his dismissal. At this point the situation has been solidified and it’s practically impossible that we’ll see Clarkson coming back, even though that would certainly be a great treat to the show’s fans.
It’s peculiar to note that despite claims of an upcoming boycott of the show, its ratings have remained more or less stable, as have its viewership numbers. It appears that people for the most part have accepted the reality of the situation but aren’t willing to let go of the show itself.
And given the contract that was given to Chris Evans, the show is pretty much guaranteed to stay on the air for a long time in the future. Three years for sure, and we would expect even more if its ratings remain stable throughout that time. If they improve, that would of course be even better for the possibility of seeing more episodes.
