Chris Ashton Interested in Left 4 Dead 3, Declares Turtle Rock’s Love for the Franchise!

Valve is yet to make any announcement regarding the development or release of a possible Left 4 Dead 3. However, a Turtle Rock developer recently declared that he would not rule out the possibility of working with the game.

Chris Ashton, co-founder of Turtle Rock, told PC Gamer that it would only be possible if Valve wanted it to be that way. Since the IP belongs to them now, it is up to them regarding what they wish to do with it.  A visitor to Valve’s headquarters in Bellevue, Wash noticed a Left 4 Dead 3 reference located in an internal company changelog. This happened last year, and Valve is yet to make any announcement following this sighting (besides a possible map remake).

The company is yet to declare or confirm any possible plans for the future of this popular co-op franchise. Chris confirmed that presently, the primary focus of Turtle Rock lies with Evolve.

Nevertheless, a chance to start working on Left 4 Dead 3 would certainly be a welcome task. He further added that Left 4 Dead was very similar to that of Evolve considering that it was their brainchild. It was a game that they wanted to make. Left 4 Dead allowed them to sink their teeth for the first time in the whole first-person shooter co-op scene. As a result, it will always remain very close to their hearts.

According to Chris, a lot of people would jump to start working on the next Left 4 Dead title. Even though it’s quite unlikely, a Left 4 Dead 3 development is not yet impossible. Evolve was once a featured game in IGN First.

Recently, 2K gave a closer look at the newest support hunter, Cabot. This character makes use of his orbital dust strike ability in order to reveal the nearby monster locations for the remaining members of the team. Quite a few times, it ends up preventing any form of hasty escapes and also ruins any stealth-minded approach from the rear team members.

2K further revealed a lot of details regarding the Evacuation mode. It spans over five different matches where the hunters try to prevent any monsters from breeding. The entire strategy is based keeping in mind an escape solution for the colonists.

The main Hunt Mode in Evolve was quite impressive, but IGN’s time with Evac suggests that Turtle Rock has more surprises up its sleeve. Not to mock anybody but Valve has enjoyed withholding information related to the third installments in some of its flagship franchises. Recently, IGN examined the rich legacy left behind by Half-Life 2 and considered whether a sequel right now, is still a priority.
