‘Chicago PD’ Season 4 to See Jay Halstead Taking His Relationship with Erin Lindsay to the Next Level!

The upcoming fourth season of the American police procedural drama TV series “Chicago PD” on NBC shall finally see the show’s primary romantic couple taking their relationship to the next level.

According to reports of possible plotlines for Season 4 of “Chicago PD,” Jay Halstead, played by Jesse Lee Soffer, will ask his girlfriend Erin Lindsay, played by Sophia Bush, to finally move in with him.

The showrunners apparently gave in to millions of fan requests that ‘Linstead’ finally happen on the show.

Executive producer Matt Olmstead confirmed that ‘Linstead’ shall indeed be among the main highlights of Season 4 of “Chicago PD,” reports the Ecumenical News.

Olmstead said that they have been quite aware of the viewers’ comments that Halstead and Lindsay act more like partners than lovers on the show because most of the pair’s storylines involve solving cases.

However, in the upcoming fourth season, Halstead and Lindsay would be more like lovers than partners as they will finally move in together as a couple under one roof. If they live together, it would certainly take their relationship a notch higher, which fans of ‘Linstead’ have been hoping for since Season 1 of “Chicago PD.”

NBC has already announced that “Chicago PD” Season 4 will premiere on September 21.

Murder of a single mom

The 25th and final episode of “Chicago PD” Season 3 was aired on May 25 and it centered on the investigation of a murder of a single mother who was in touch with the son of Sergeant Henry ‘Hank’ Voight, played by Jason Beghe, who also suffered brutal assault, details Premiere Date TV.

Voight soon realized that the victim has a connection with his son Jason. Before his team from the Chicago PD can get a clue about what was really happening, Voight has started to go on a vigilante mode and began a killing spree to get to the perpetrators who murdered his son.

As a character who is obviously being tormented by his past, seeing Voight unleashing his pent up emotions is both heartening and terrifying.

According to reports, Voight would likely continue to show a different side of him in the upcoming fourth season of “Chicago PD” and viewers would certainly find it unpleasant. The police sergeant has a destructive side and it is likely that he will be toeing the line between right and wrong in Season 4.

A tough decision for Roman

The Season 3 finale also showed Sean Roman, played by Brian Geraghty, making a tough decision for some serious changes including leaving the Chicago PD and also his girlfriend Kim Burgess, played by Marina Squerciati

Burgess was previously engaged to Adam Ruzek, played by Patrick John Flueger, but she decided to call off the engagement upon learning that Ruzek had no plans of marrying her.

Subsequently, she fell for Sean Roman. However, Roman decided to leave the Chicago PD during the Season 3 finale to concentrate on his full recovery after he was seriously wounded during a shooting which took place in episode 21.

He was given the option to transfer to a less active duty or to quit the force. Roman decided to leave the team instead and just asked his partner and love interest Kim Burgess to join him in San Diego. Despite her special feelings for him, Burgess chose to stay with the Chicago PD.

In real life, Brian Geraghty is also a producer of “Chicago PD.” During the middle of Season 3, he told the showrunners and writers that he wanted to focus on other projects and needed to get out of the show.
