‘Chicago PD’ Season 4 Episode 6 to See Detective Olinsky Staking His Badge to Clear His Friend from Murder Charge

Season 4 of the American police procedural drama TV series “Chicago PD” will head to its sixth episode on November 2 entitled “Skin in the Game,” which would see Detective Alvin Olinsky, played by Elias Koteas, staking his badge to help out a friend who was being accused of murder.

After receiving complaints from a frustrated neighbor, Kim Burgess, played by Marina Squerciati, and Sorensen, played by Kevin Kane, check out the house of Jake McCoy, played by Billy Burke.

Jake is a famous baseball player who is also a friend of Detective Olinsky. When Burgess and Sorensen checked out his house, they discover the body of a 16-year-old girl named Maya Collins, played by Violett Beane. That instantaneously turned Jake a suspect.

However, Detective Olinsky does not believe that his friend can murder a teenage girl. The Intelligence Unit sees the intrusion of Olinsky as a conflict of interest, reports the International Business Times.

But Olinsky is willing to stake his badge and honor just to prove that Jake is innocent. Apparently, Jake told the police officers that he was just helping Maya and some other girls escape the sex trade.

Based on the teaser trailer for the upcoming sixth episode of “Chicago PD” Season 4, Olinsky was also seen telling Jake that he can help him just like the time he did before with a DUI charge.

Time for the quiet favorites in the show to shine

There has been a noticeable shift in focus in “Chicago PD” Season 4. Unlike in most of the first three seasons of the hit NBC TV series where the front and center of the show are often Jay Halstead, Hank Voight, and Erin Lindsay, that seems to be not the case in the current season.

The current season saw some of the fans’ quiet favorites shine in “Chicago PD.” First, the focus was on Kevin Atwater, played by LaRoyce Hawkins.

Subsequently, it was the turn of Trudy, played by Amy Morton, to showcase her wares while being illuminated by the spotlight, notes Cartermatt.

There are now reports saying that the next character who could be put in the limelight is none other than Craig ‘Mouse’ Gerwitz, played by Samuel Caleb Hunt.

Mouse is the tech and surveillance expert for the Intelligence Unit of the Chicago PD. The last episode of “Chicago PD” saw a new girl in his job and no word about Mouse and the reason for it. What seems strange is the fact that the episodes ended up getting switched.

Jay Halstead is worried about Mouse going back into the army and tries to talk him into waiting for six more months to really think about it. But Mouse’s mind is made up and he wants to leave.

After speaking to Lindsay, Jay realizes that it’s his own personal feelings getting involved and that it’s not really about what’s best for Mouse, so Jay apologizes to him saying that he has his full support.

Unfortunately for Mouse, Voight is not willing to help him bury his felony and it’s affecting Mouse at work. So the big fan question is whether Mouse is going to quit his job at the “Chicago PD” or worse, be fired.

Debt is repaid

Season 4 of “Chicago PD” premiered on NBC on September 21 and it picked up where the Season 3 finale left off.

It also featured Erin Lindsay, played by Sophia Bush, refusing to spill the beans on Chicago PD Intelligence Unit Sergeant Hank Voight, played by Jason Beghe, for what he did to Justin’s killers.

Justin is the son of Hank Voight and during Season 3, the police sergeant took matters into his own hands to kill those who were responsible for the murder of his son. Lindsay knew what happened but during the subsequent investigation made by Police Commander Crowley, played by Barbara Eve Harris, she decided to cover Voight.

Lindsay denies that anything was wrong even though she keeps looking at Voight pointedly as if castigating him.

She told Crowley that she and the grieving Voight met up and just talked that fateful night, giving the embattled police sergeant the perfect alibi.

But Crowley appears not convinced and even asked Lindsay how much she is going to cover for Voight and continues to stake her career on the line as well as the reputation of the Chicago PD.
