The series follows the men and women of the Chicago Police Department’s District 21 who pursue the perpetrators of major street crimes in the Windy City.
“Chicago PD” is actually a spinoff of the TV series “Chicago Fire.” The TV series, which is created by Dick Wolf and Matt Olmstead, originally premiered on NBC as a midseason replacement on January 8, 2014, but eventually proved popular enough that the network immediately renewed it for Season 2.
The TV series focuses on the story of uniformed police patrol and the intelligence unit of the Chicago PD as they run after perpetrators of the city’s major street offenders. And as its title implies, the film location is in Chicago.
“Chicago PD” is about the uniformed cops of the Chicago Police Department who patrol the beat and go head-to-head with the city’s street criminals. The detectives of the Intelligence Unit combat the city’s major offenses, including organized crime, drug trafficking, and high-profile murders.
