Chicago P.D. Season 4 Brings Lindsay and Jay Closer Together, Burgess Gets a New Partner!

Various interesting things have been announced for the fourth season of “Chicago P.D.”, mostly related to the relationships of different characters. Lindsay and Jay, for example, will find themselves interacting a lot more, with Lindsay relying on Jay for support more often now. On the other hand, Burgess will have a new partner – Julie – and she will be testing the situation, trying to figure out if she actually wants to retain her by her side or not.

This is actually relevant for the filming of the show as well, as so far it’s been announced that Julie’s character is only written in three episodes in total. Whether or not we’ll see her more after that depends on how well fans and critics receive her character, and how she blends in with the whole environment of the show. It’s possible that she will become a regular, but it’s also a possibility that the producers will quietly write her out after her episodes are over.

It’s good that the producers are including some positive changes for Burgess, as she could definitely use a break right now. Her character has been through a lot over the last few episodes of the show, especially with regards to her relationships, and it will be good to see her getting back on her feet and interacting with everyone in a more positive way.

Things could have been handled a bit more smoothly in her relationship with Roman, but in the end the two just weren’t meant to be together, and the show moved on once this became clear. It’s been implied that Burgess doesn’t really suffer from this loss too much, and she is actually looking forward to some exciting new times. Whether or not the next episodes of the show will actually turn out to be so positive for her is hard to say though, but we’re confident that the show’s producers aren’t going to give her a hard time right now.

As for Lindsay and Jay, it seems like Jay is simply the only person Lindsay can truly trust right now, and she doesn’t know who else to turn to for support. While Jay will give her the shoulder she needs right now, it’s not clear how the relationship between the two is going to develop over the next few months. It’s possible that things could take a turn for the worse if Lindsay starts relying on Jay too much, but at least she doesn’t seem like the kind of character to go in that direction.

The only potential problem there is the implication that Lindsay will not be entirely open with Jay, and will keep some things hidden from him. What exactly those things are is open for interpretation right now – and needless to say, fans of the show have been talking about the possibilities quite a lot – but hopefully she isn’t going to jeopardize her entire relationship with Jay.

In the end, Lindsay will still feel positive towards Jay and the initial previews of the plots involving them imply that she’s hiding things simply because she needs to, not out of malice. We’ll see whether that’s true once the new season arrives in a few months, but hopefully Jay will have enough patience to deal with the situation on his end. Many fans agree that there is a lot of potential for a strong relationship between him and Lindsay to be developed on the screen, even more than what we’ve seen so far.
