A lot has been happening in “Chicago Med” lately, and while things are looking up for some characters, others are going through some more challenging moments. But at least fans who’ve wanted to see a new romantic development will seemingly finally have their wishes fulfilled, although it’s not clear how long this romance will last.
Before we take a look at that though, how have things been going on other fronts of the show? Dr. Choi found himself having to treat a patient without almost any grasp of the English language, making it very difficult to communicate with him on certain important issues.
Making matters more complicated, the man’s closest people had different opinions on whether he should live or not, but the one who wanted him to get the surgery he needed so critically couldn’t actually provide consent for him.
Things worked out in the end though, as Dr. Choi was able to get the consent he needed and he ended up saving the patient’s life. Judging by some discussions about the show online, many fans were particularly impressed with this scene as they were left to believe that things would end up badly for the patient.
The show is still in a relatively early stage and it’s establishing its core concepts and values for its fans. It’s still not clear how far the producers are willing to go in order to create some extra drama, for example, and many fans see it as a real possibility that even a more important character could die at some point.
What about that romantic development? It’s still not clear where exactly things are headed, but it was strongly implied that Manning and Halstead could find themselves in a relationship. That immediately struck some fans as odd, however, as Manning is already going after Clarke. It looks like her character might be a bit different from what she was initially presented as, and she might not be that trustworthy and reliable.
As we said above though, that’s just a regular part of starting a show, and many of the characters are likely going to undergo some changes as the seasons go on. The longer the show is on air for, the more complex those characters are going to become, and right now the writers are barely even scratching the surface of their personalities.
That’s why some fans have been so active in discussing “Chicago Med” and its plot developments, as well as the various things that are happening between its characters. Right now it’s quite fun to speculate about the motives of each character on the screen, and try to guess how everyone will turn out by the end of the season.
We’ve also seen some interesting hints about the next episode, and it looks like many characters are going to be put through some even more challenging tests quite soon. It’s also hinted that the episode will be about much more than medical procedures, but that’s completely normal for a show like this.
In fact, “Chicago Med” may have been hitting the non-medical side of its storylines a bit too heavily lately, but at least most fans don’t seem to mind. It’s no secret that many people watch medical dramas for reasons entirely unrelated to the medical procedures depicted in them, and “Chicago Med” definitely predisposes to some drama and character development.
