Under the tutelage of Carlos Queiroz, Iran managed to secure a place at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. However, Team Melli’s performance didn’t impress Iranian officials since the team only tallied one point out of three matches.

According to local media reports, Carlos Queiroz has already received a number of exciting job offers from English football clubs. The Iranian Football Federation is also negotiating with the Portuguese coach to see if they can agree on the terms of a new contract.

Reza Ghoochannejhad, who currently plays at Al-Kuwait on loan, says Carlos Queiroz is the best coach to manage Team Melli. “In my opinion, the federation should renew his contract. We need to prepare the team for the upcoming Asian Cup, and a new coach will not be able to get the team ready in a limited time,”

Ghoochannejhad was first invited to the Iranian national football team in 2012 after speaking with Queiroz. “I have found him a great coach, who has plans for improving the team. Carlos should stay in Iran and continue his job,”

Reza also went on to talk about his new club, Al-Kuwait. “I decided to leave Charlton on loan to experience playing in another league. Before signing with Al-Kuwait, I had been contacted by football clubs from the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait,”

“So far, I have scored five goals in three matches. Apparently the coach and fans are satisfied with my performance and I hope to give my best services to Al-Kuwait,” Reza Ghoochannejhad added.

When asked if he wants to sign a permanent contract with Al-Kuwait, Reza said: “It depends on various factors. I have to see what happens in the future. I may return to Charlton and continue my career in the UK.”

Reza Ghoochannejhad is believed to be one of the best Iranian footballers who played in the 2014 World Cup.
