CES 2015 to Highlight the Internet of Things!

The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2015 promises to be more exciting this year as the event focuses on the top trend in consumer electronics today – the Internet of Things.

The Internet of Things was recently coined to refer to the concept of a world full of connected electronic devices which can be controlled from a consumer-friendly hub, like a smartphone app for instance.

Expected to draw more than 150,000 visitors, the International CES 2015 will be held in Las Vegas from January 6 to 9, 2015 and shall occupy over two million square feet of exhibition space to cater to the product displays of more than 3,500 companies from all over the world.

Big rebound

Tech Gen Mag cites that the event would like to make a big rebound this year following a so-so showing last year compared to 2013, which carried more excitement.

Last year’s CES was a bit of a disappointment to many techno whizzes and buffs whose lives revolve mostly around gadgets and gizmos. The only highlights were the curved TVs introduced by LG, the debut of Nvidia’s Tegra mobile processor, the latest streaming device on Sony’s PlayStation, and Hollywood director Michael Bay delivering the keynote hardly saying anything significant or substantial to the technology world.

Gizmodo says that the fun in CES is to actually see unexpected products doing unimaginable things. But basing on the theme of the Internet of Things this year, people would expect to see connected homes, activity trackers, TVs loaded with so-called quantum dots, or even cars that can drive fine on its own, and more.

In addition, there’s also the possible launching of the new flagship smartphones from Sony and Xiaomi to look forward to as well.

New high-tech gadgets to expect
