The pictures show a visually modified Cherokee Dakar, with an attractive custom paint job and exterior work, and it’s obvious that this is one impressive beast of a machine even without all the eye candy. Equipped with 17” rims, it should be able to easily handle any kind of terrain you throw at it, even if you decide to take it for a more challenging ride across a marshland. Plus, the various customization options available should fill any gaps left by the default base package, although from what we’re seeing so far, there shouldn’t be that many features left to add.
The Cherokee wasn’t the only model shown in this release, as there were also pictures of the Jeep Wrangler Maximum Performance. This model is aimed at tilting the balance more towards the side of power, for an increase in the price. What’s noticeable in the pictures is that the new Jeep relies heavily on electronics on its exterior, not just the interior, and it would be interesting to see how the company could incorporate modern gadgets into the vehicle to improve the driving experience.
The press release wasn’t anything major, but it should give fans something to discuss over the coming months as they’re waiting for the official release of the new Jeep. That’s still a while away, but as the release date approaches, it’s expected that the company will start revealing more about the new model, along with details on the pricing and availability plans.
