Winter and Hawley decided to take a new approach to the previously unbreakable couple. In a recent interview, Winter said that the new dynamics between Rick and Kate is going to evolve all the way to the show’s fall finale.
He also disclosed that there is going to be another shift and change that’s going to happen which viewers will find incredibly dynamic, which will lead “Castle” to an even more interesting storytelling that will bring both Rick and Kate in a fun way.
But the breakup of Kate and Rick has nothing to do with the two no longer being in love with each other or perhaps some other reason.
Kate simply wants to protect her husband because of the ominous and mysterious powers coming after her. She simply does not want Rick to become collateral damage from the threats in her life that she is currently getting after assuming his post as Captain of 12th Precinct.
Hawley said that they are hoping that the audience sticks around long enough to see the next episode of “Castle” so that they would realize that it was only the beginning. He added that they are using the plot to put the spark back in, and the stakes back in, which gives “Castle” the fun and the juice.
Did he say that the show’s dynamics is going to evolve all the way to the fall hiatus or dissolve all the way to the fall hiatus?
Am I missing something? I have been looking at various episode lists and have noted that none contain an episode 9. Could this be the writing on the wall? Might as well be considering the way they have trashed the show this season. Castle has been a great ride for the most part until the train wreck known as season 8.

Season 7! When they where on top !

Nathan it is time you took some of the heat that everyone is dumping on Stana,that interview showed me two things1) Castle is not one of your priorities or loves and 2) You only care about Firefly,a series that has been gone for 14 years and Con Man.I watched Firefly it was nice but let it go.You are in a series with very dedicated fans and Jimmy is one.And you dis your fans that have been there for seven years.
The writers and show runners are under the gun and you were like tephlon,not now.

Castle is dead in the water. Nathan ego has gotten to big for the talent that he is not. He is talented, but not as talented as he thinks he is. He likes his histrionics a little to much. Castle is in serious trouble.
Nice to see Fillion stick up for the writers and the show. Instead he dodges all the questions, washing his hands of any responsibility throwing everybody else under the bus.
