Castle Season 8 Second Half Premiere Would be Filled with a Lot of Giggles and Chuckles, Disclose Showrunners!

Episode 9 of Season 8 of the American crime drama TV series “Castle” would mark the second half premiere of the popular show, which would air on ABC on February 1, 2016.

With an official title of “Tone Death,” executive producers Terence Paul Winter and Alexi Hawley revealed that episode 9 would be filled with a lot of giggles and chuckles.

Apparently, Rick Castle, played by Nathan Fillion, and Kate Beckett, played by Stana Katic, would not tell their colleagues that they have already rekindled their romance as they will continue to act as estranged couple. The arrangement would result to some hilarious situations and a lot of comical moments, cite the showrunners.

It seems that Winter and Hawley have picked up on what the fans of the show wanted for “Castle” so rather than put them into a lot of difficult situations where they become far apart, they have finally decided to capitalize on the show’s strength, which is no other than the relationship of Castle and Beckett or ‘Caskett,’ notes Movie News Guide.

The light moments on the upcoming episode 9 of “Castle” would surely be something to watch out for.

Concentrate on their work better

According to the show creators, after the midseason finale that saw Kate apologizing to Rick for pushing him away from her life, Rick eventually forgave his wife.

As they return to work, they have also decided that they should not reveal about their reconciliation so that their colleagues would have the impression that the they are still unfriendly to one another.

They have come to such a decision so that they can concentrate on their work better as their personal lives would not intervene into their jobs.

Winter and Hawley said that viewers would really find it funny because the other characters in the show are not aware of the reunion of ‘Caskett.’

Hawley said that what they love about the situation is that now they are twisting the TV show where Rick and Kate are together, but the public face of them is still separate. He said that the situation allows the audience to be in on the joke with the couple. He added that it is going to be pretty delightful.

Unraveling the mystery of Rick’s disappearance

The second half of “Castle” shall also touch on the reason for the lengthy disappearance and memory loss of Rick Castle during the previous season, according to the Latin Post.

It was actually co-showrunner Alexi Hawley who said about it during a recent interview. He said that the first half of Season 8 of “Castle” focused on the LokSat case but during the second half of the TV series, it would be the turn of Rick’s mysterious case to be on the spotlight.

Rick’s disappearance was featured during Season 7 and came about after an old prep school friend named Bilal broke free from al-Qaida and turned himself over to US intelligence. As part of his conditional surrender, he demanded to be turned over only to Rick Castle because he is the only one he trusts.

However, after the mission was completed, Rick’s memories of Bilal and the covert operation were erased, leaving him unable to account for his absence when he was found months later.

Hawley said that they will revisit the situation which could all lead back to his wife Kate. However, the co-showrunner added that they have not nailed the story yet but they already have a working idea on how to do it.

Castle Season 7

Fans of the show got piqued with the latest pronouncements from Hawley. They have been slamming the decision of the showrunners to continuously put twists in the lives of Rick and Kate that often, it becomes overkill.

One was even quoted as saying that the show creators are having more chances to poorly handle every lame story arc and even try to combine them all into one.

  1. Beckett and Castle were engaged but not married when he disappeared. Therefore you should consider that Beckett is not answerable to Castle for anything prior to their engagement. Since their engagement I have not seen anything that would tie Beckett to the disappearance except her activities during her search for Castle and considering her drive to find Castle it would have to be a positive thing for their relationship. I still believe the entire inane story line should be dropped.

  2. The more I hear of this together in private, apart in public thing the more it sounds pathetic, pitiful, boring and tiresome. The investigation of Castle’s disappearance is supposed to begin again (although I cannot fathom why) about episode 14. Sounds like they should end LokSat by then they have already wasted too much time on something that easy and important (supposedly).

  3. We all know that the Castle show runners are new this season but did you know that for episodes 9 through 13 one writer (Winter) has been with Castle since season 2 writing 2 or 3 episodes per year. Two writers have been with Castle since about season 6 or 7 and have written only 3 episodes each during that period. Finally, 2 writers have never written even one episode for Castle. Seems like they are using us to train new writers (And new show runners.). See Wikipedia Castle episode list for this information. Notice that episodes 10 through 13 do not yet have titles nor air date only writers.

  4. With regard to the show runners recognizing that the strength of the show is Casket together, what about the upcoming episode where Castle, Alexis and Hayley go to LA while Beckett stays in NY? Sounds like another episode similar to the one with Castle and Alexis on a plane with a murderer and Beckett in NY. Let’s not repeat such mindless episodes.
