Kate then went to a meeting with also-promoted Deputy Chief Gates even as Rick went to his office to learn that his daughter is into solving cases for him. Alexis sort of became Q to Rick’s James Bond.
Then he got a casual call from RySpo who said that he seems unable to contact Beckett that he felt that something was wrong. His negative vibes became more pronounced when the murder scene that the boys are working on at a theater reveals a pool of Beckett’s blood with her shiny new bracelet that he gave earlier, floating on it.
And from there, the tension and the excitement build up as it is obvious that Beckett has suddenly disappeared. Rick is a little more concerned because of the blood, worried that Kate may have been hurt real bad by her abductors or worse.
In the course of following up a lead with Hayley Shipton, Rick was captured by the female shooter A.J. whom they thought was a suspect to the abduction of Kate.
A.J. drugged Rick and was brought by a van to an undisclosed location. He was bound to a chair and was eventually tortured by A.J.’s partner Brooks, with spiders in an attempt to pry from him what he knows about Kate’s activities.
Seems to me like the mold has been made and the new show runners are saying why be original we can use the mold to make as many copies as we want.
1. The mold: Kate’s inability to turn loose of any case involving the murder of people Kate knows (her mother and the AG team)
2: Activity: little if any on cases that are very important to Kate. This lack of activity continues to defy rationale to and past the point of boredom of the story line.
3. Solution: there is no solution until Castle enters the picture and initiates activity that leads to solution of the case. Solution of the case releases Kate from her mind set and things return to normal.
Now that we know what they are doing how long will it take to go from 1 to 3? They are now saying that stage 3 will be reached at the fall finale or 8×08.
The show runners promised new dynamics but they also promised not to touch the Caskett romance. What are they going to promise next and renege next?
They say now that they have a “real plan” for the show. They had better tell me or show me what it is soon or I might not make it to 8×08 when their “real plan” is supposed to “resolve” current issues and throw in another twist and scheme in the series.
What I don’t get is why they are returning to the original format of the show except that it was successful and they cannot be creative and original.
I have a “real plan” for myself that is pretty simple and does not have any twists. It provides that they get Caskett back together no later than 8×08 and leave their romance to grow or I’m leaving regretfully but positively.
I might add that the show runners have stated that the Caskett romance is supposed to be stronger than ever at the end of the season if not before. The current situation does not speak well for this but I try to keep hope up by recognizing that the show runners want the season to be successful so that they will be successful. They had better get things resolved and running smoother by the time of the viewer polls or there may be a mid-season cancelling of the show.
If you have to plead with people to stick with your show for six or seven more episodes and then they will like what happens, all you are going to wind up with is a cancelled show.
Recent spoilers that I have seen indicate that during (I believe) 8×05 we will see that work is indeed proceeding to find the partner of Bracken and end the threat on Beckett being killed.
Winter has said that the new dynamic between Rick and Kate is going to evolve all the way to the fall finale. Very important to note that he is not saying that Rick and Kate will be back together.
