That could also play into the potential of Cartoon HD to develop into a full, commercial application in the long run. There are various obstacles that will have to be overcome for that, and there are rumors that the developers of the original app want to do that, but we can only imagine the huge amounts of trouble they would have organizing everything with copyright holders.
Then there are technical implications as well, like this one – so all in all, it sounds like a project that will take a lot of effort, far more than is probably worth for them.
It would definitely be nice to see Cartoon HD coming back to the app stores in an official form one day though, but it would probably be a while until that happens, if we ever see it at all. We have no idea how the tech world is going to evolve over the next few years, on the other hand, so we can definitely see this as a possibility.
