Word is out that the first official trailer for “Captain America: Civil War” will be shown with the worldwide release of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” on December 18.
Luckily, some fans have already seen the trailer, first and exclusive at the Disney D23 Expo held recently and then at some private screenings.
According to Moviepilot, the trailer is able to provide fans a glimpse of action that the upcoming film has in store for its viewers.
The upcoming Marvel film will follow the events of “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” An incident involving Captain America / Steve Rogers, played by Chris Evans, and the Avengers, leads to a collateral damage forcing politicians to form a system of accountability in seeking the Avengers’ help.
This results in dissension among the Avengers and dividing the team into two — Tony Stark/ Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr., agrees with the government’s position while Rogers is on the opposing side. Amid this great divide, the Avengers attempt to protect the world from a new enemy.
Not to spoil things for the large population that hasn’t seen the trailer yet, but the trailer gives the first look at Frank Grillo’s Brock Rumlow / Crossbones in his full armored suit and skull mask.
It also gives a brief look at Vision, played by Paul Bettany, and Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther. The trailer shows the involvement of Martin Freeman for the first time although his role is still a mystery.
Sebastian Stan’s Bucky appears in what resembles as the post-credit scenes from “Ant-Man.” The Winter Soldier was being held in the basement of the Avengers headquarters by Rogers and the Falcon.
Meanwhile, Stark is seen looking a bit worse as he suits up in a new version of his Iron Man armor, presumably the Mark XLVI.
Moviepilot notes that one of the most highlighted scenes in the trailer is the fight scene between Black Widow, played by Scarlett Johansson, and Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye.
The trailer also gives viewers a glimpse of Elizabeth Olsen, who hasn’t been seen in any of any promotional materials so far, portraying the Scarlet Witch. Surprisingly, it looks like the Scarlet Witch / Wanda Maximoff is being pegged to be on Captain America’s side.
Rumors are surfacing that “Captain America: Civil War” will see the start of the relationship between the Scarlet Witch and Vision. However, the trailer did not give anything away on that account and fans will have to wait in May next year to watch the movie.
Interestingly, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is a no-show in the teaser. The web-slinger is one of the most anticipated characters in the movie.
As per Cinema Blend, Marvel is set to release new stills and previews soon including Spidey. His appearance is just something to be savored since the hype of the web-slinging superhero finally joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe is still at an all-time high.
Marvel is probably building up the anticipation so that the experience of seeing Spider-Man in action for the first time along with the Avengers will be a sweet treat to the fans.
Holland is set to reprise Peter Parker and his alter-ego Spider-Man in the”Spider-Man” reboot slated for a July 2017 release. He follows the footsteps of Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield in portraying the character.

Although his film is still more than a year away, Holland’s Spider-Man will make his debut next year in “Captain America: Civil War.” It is still unknown if he will side with Captain America or Iron Man during the conflict.
The superhero film is still six months away from its release, but Paul Bettany, in his latest interview, has revealed some details about the movie’s theme.
Speaking to Collider, the 44-year-old actor who plays the android avenger Vision, spoke about the underlying political dimension of the movie.
