One of the many things that fans are getting excited about “Captain America: Civil War” is the first-time appearance of Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
While the “Spider-Man” reboot movie is due to hit theaters on July 28, 2017, the web-slinging superhero is set to debut as a Marvel Avenger in the third Captain America film set to make its way to global cinemas on May 6, 2016.
There were reports saying that Spider-Man’s biggest secret in the Marvel reboot is his costume, which will be quite different from the ones worn by Tobey Maguire in the “Spider-Man” series, and Andrew Garfield in “The Amazing Spider-Man” series. Accordingly, it will surely blow people’s expectations out of the water.
However, if Tom Holland, the young actor who will take on the role of Peter Parker and Spider-Man in the Marvel reboot, will be appearing in “Captain America: Civil War,” it would be nearly impossible to keep his new costume still a secret before his solo film.
Now it turns out that Spider-Man will actually wear two kinds of suits in “Captain America: Civil War.” The first suit will be home-made to be consistent with the premise that Peter Parker is a high schooler. Accordingly, the second suit will materialize in the course of the film, notes Yibada.
Previous reports indicate that it shall be Tony Stark who will devise the suit of Spider-Man, which is why it is to be called as the iron spider suit. So it could be that the new Spider-Man suit, the one which Marvel claims to blow people’s minds away, will be known and seen by fans before the “Spider-Man” reboot movie, unless there is a secret third suit.
A classic symbol
Interestingly, the Spider-Man suit in “Captain America: Civil War” helmed by brothers Joe and Anthony Russo, will feature the iconic spider symbol on the back.
Accordingly, while Tobey Maguire’s and Andrew Garfield’s Spidey costumes showed a spider figure on the back, the classic emblem in Tom Holland’s suit would be closer to the oval shaped body with stumpy legs.
The spider symbol was actually shown during a 15-minute screening for a theater staff, who eventually revealed footage of the Spider-Man suit in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
However, Marvel has yet to confirm the report on the new Spider-Man suit or the iconic symbol it features.
Marvel’s biggest next year
“Captain America: Civil War” is expected to be the biggest movie of Marvel next year following its splash this year with “Avengers: Age of Ultron” and “Ant-Man,” notes Cinema Blend.
The movie is based on a script that was written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeeley. It is also an adaptation of one of Marvel Comics’ biggest crossover events – Mark Millar’s “Civil War.”
The plot of “Captain America: Civil War” is tied into the aftermath of “Avengers: Age of Ultron” and the conclusion of phase two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
That and the ensemble of Marvel superheroes in the movie have prompted critics to brand the third Captain America movie as an Avengers film.
But Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige officially came out recently to say that “Captain America: Civil War” is very much Cap’s movie because it is the culmination of a trilogy that began with “Captain America: The First Avenger.”
In a web forum to promote the home video release of “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” Feige said that people will someday look back and watch “Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” and “Captain America: Civil War” and they will say that it is one of the most unique and different trilogies ever about a single character.
Despite the presence of at least 11 other Marvel superheroes in “Captain America: Civil War” including Iron Man, Black Widow, Ant-Man, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, Winter Soldier, Spider-Man, Vision, Hawkeye, War Machine, and Black Panther, Feige debunks claims that the film is “Avengers 2.5.”
Captain America: Civil War is definitely NOT Avengers 2.5. It’s clearly a Captain America movie. The whole Avengers 2.5 joke is getting really annoying. Why the hell does Tony Stark have to make Spider-Man’s second suit? The MCU kind of revolves around Iron Man too much. Peter Parker needs to make his own nonhome-made Spider-Man costume, just like he’s supposed to.
Tony Stark builds Spidey a new suit in the civil war comic, the one with 3 mechanical arms. At least this way, when Spidey joins Cap’s team later on it might actually balance them out a bit considering Tony’s team has him, Warmachine, Vision AND Black Panther!
Besides I honestly don’t think Robert Downey Jr will be doing many more marvel films, I believe his contract has ended and they’re just paying him absolutely extortionate amounts to keep him on and to make the most of iron man before he bites the dust during phase 3 which is highly speculated.
I sure can’t wait to see Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War! This movie is going to be epic! I really hope Tom Holland’s Spider-Man costume looks cool.
